The Passionist Spiritual Center

Lying just north of the George Washington Bridge you will find a little stretch of land along the Great Hudson River that is about 18 acres. A stretch of land that is peaceful and sacred for many. It is The Passionist Spiritual Center.

The Center was opened by the Passionist Community of Brothers and Priest back in 1967 as a Retreat House to serve the people of the New York Metropolitan area. It is one of three Passionist Retreat Centers in the New York area. The Passionist have owned this little plot of the land in the Riverdale section of the Bronx since the early 1920’s. That is when the dream of a Spiritual Center began.

Today the Spiritual Center is a place of retreat, renewal and refreshment in this busy world. It is a place that offers the opportunity to stop, rest, renew and pray for a while to all who walk through its doors. The Spiritual Center is about coming to know God in a more intimate way.

So if you live in the New York area or you come for a visit, when you get here just head north along the mighty Hudson River to a quiet little spot just about five miles north of the George Washington Bridge. You can be sure that most days you will find the preacherman there but even if not God will certainly welcome you!
