Today’s Blessing Prayer: Happy Easter Wednesday everyone! As the morning begins here in the New York area the sun is out and it looks to be a beautiful day! I hope your day has started well and that wherever you are the sun is out or will be out and you will get to enjoy its warmth!
I send Easter blessings to all of you today. As I was spending some time in prayer this morning I reflected on the fact that whenever I get to this week each year I think of the movie Ground Hog Day, because for these eight days of the Easter Octave each day we celebrate Easter Again. So Happy Easter and may God bless you today with the gift of Easter joy wherever you are and in whatever you are doing. May you be found rich today in the grace and presence of God and may you share your Easter joy with everyone you meet. May your hearts burn today with the presence and the spirit of the Risen Lord! Peace in Christ's Passion and the Risen Lord...Fr. Paul
Today’s Prayer: Jesus, we come before you at the beginning of this day. Take Lord and receive our hearts; the words of faith that we speak, the works of justice that we do, our joys and sufferings. When we come to the Eucharistic table of life, gather our offerings to your own for the life of the world. At the end of this day, place us with Mary, your mother, and for her sake take our hearts to your heart. Amen! (Adapted from a prayer by the Maryland Province of Jesuits)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday greetings and blessing to all! I hope your Tuesday has started off well. Perhaps for some this is your first day back to work and for others it is just another Tuesday the second day in a work week. As for myself in a little while I will head out to have my car serviced before heading to the office for the day. It looks to be a nice day. Just a small chance of rain this morning but the rest of the day should be sunny!
My prayer of blessing for all of you is that your day will be filled with Easter joy as you make your own journey through it. That your encounters with others, your travel, your experiences, your times alone will be touch by our joy filled God and that your will encounter God’s loving presence in many was as you make your way through this day! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul
Today’s Prayer: Loving Jesus, come back into our society, our family life, our hearts, and reign there as our peaceful God. Enlighten us with the splendor of faith and the love of your tender heart so that we will work for the good of all your people, especially those in need, impart on us your own spirit, a spirit of discipline, serenity and gentleness preserving the flame of enthusiasm always alight in our hearts. May this day be a day when you find a home at the center of our life and are borne on our shoulders as your joyful Easter people. Amen! (Adapted from a prayer by St. John XXIII
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Easter Monday greetings and blessings to all. I hope you had a wonderful Easter Sunday and that you got to enjoy the day with family and or friends in a special way. I also hope you were able to give God a little time too!
I looks to be a nice morning here in the New York area though I think we will get rain at some point in the day. I hope you Easter Monday weather is life giving and energizing and that whatever this day brings into your life I hope it will be blessed with God’s presence, joy and love.
My blessing prayer today is simply that your Easter Monday will be filled with the joy and grace. That you will encounter the Risen Christ wherever you go, in the things you do and in the people you meet. That you will live this day not fearful but overjoyed. Many blessings on this Easter Monday to all! Peace in Christ’s Passion and Joy in the Risen Lord…Fr. Paul
Today’s Prayer: Loving Jesus, when all is darkness and we feel our weakness, give us the sense of your presence, your mercy, your love and your strength. Help us to have complete trust in your protecting love and strengthening power, so that nothing may frighten or worry us, for, living close to you, we will see your hand, your purpose, your will in all things. Amen. (Adapted from a prayer by St. Ignatius of Loyola)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Happy Easter Sunday to all! I hope this finds you enjoying a beautiful Easter Sunday morning. I am bot sure what this Easter Sunday morning will bring here in the New York area as the sun is not up yet. I believe it is to be a bit cloudy but I don't think there is to be any rain. Hopefully the sun will make an appearance!
In a little while I am going to head to St. John and St. Mary Parish in Chappaqua for the 7:30 am and 9:00 am masses. Then I will return home for a quiet Easter afternoon and evening.
I thank all of you for your prayers and good thoughts during my Lenten journeys they certainly helped to keep me focused and spirit filled. Life does show down a little these next few months, but I will still be busy with ministry, so I ask you to continue your prayers for the Preacher on the Run!
My prayer of blessing today is that all of us will be touch by the joy of Easter and the joy of God’s mercy and love. On this most holy feast of Easter, having journeyed with Jesus through his Passion, Death to this day of Resurrection may our Good and Gracious God bless us and protect us from the struggles and perils of life. May the God who so loves us that he gave us his only Son touch us with that love today and always. And through the joyous mercy and grace of Christ may God lead us to the banquet of lasting joy. Amen – Alleluia!
Enjoy your day, give God a little time and I hope you will get to celebrate today with family and friends! Peace in Christ's Passion - Joy in the Risen Lord...Fr. Paul
Today’s Prayer: Loving God, you gift us today with Easter hope. We thank you for the journey that you made from Bethlehem to Calvary. We thank you for all that you have shared with us, taught us and lived for us. Grace us now with an Easter faith that looks into an empty tomb and believes. Enliven our heart to be on fire with the hope that your love is everlasting. May the Easter mystery make us proclaimers of your Word and carriers of your Light. May we truly be joy filled Easter people today and always! Amen!
This is the prayer Pope Francis prayed at the end of the Stations of the Cross last night in the Colosseum...
Lord Jesus, help us to see in your Cross all the crosses of the world:
The cross of those who hunger for bread and for love;
The cross of those who are alone or abandoned even by their own children and family members;
The cross of those who thirst for justice and peace;
The cross of those who do not have the comfort of the faith;
The cross of the elderly who are bowed down under the weight of years and loneliness;
The cross of migrants who find doors closed because of fear, and hearts sealed by political calculations;
The cross of the little ones, wounded in their innocence and purity;
The cross of humanity that wanders in the darkness of uncertainty and in the darkness of the culture of the fleeting moment;
The cross of families broken by betrayal, by the seductions of the evil one or by murderous lightness and by selfishness;
The cross of consecrated persons who tirelessly seek to bring your light into the world and feel rejected, mocked and humiliated;
The cross of consecrated persons who, along the way, have forgotten their first love;
The cross of your children who, believing in you and trying to live according to your word, find themselves marginalized and discarded even by their families and their peers;
The cross of our weaknesses, our hypocrisies, our betrayals, our sins and our many broken promises;
The cross of your Church which, faithful to your Gospel, struggles to carry your love even among the baptized themselves;
The cross of the Church, your bride, who feels continually attacked from within and from without;
The cross of our common home that withers seriously before our selfish eyes that are blinded by greed and power.
Lord Jesus, rekindle in us the hope of the resurrection and of your definitive victory against all evil and all death. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Holy Saturday greetings and blessings to all! I hope you had a blessed and holy Good Friday. I hope you got to spend a little time in prayer. The liturgy of Good Friday is so simple it is one of my favorite days to just sit in a church or a chapel and be.
Now, it is a time of waiting. My prayer of blessing today is that your Holy Saturday may be rich in the warmth of the sun, even though it is a rainy day here in the New York area, that it may be a day when you can hope for all the goodness that Easter is. And may you be blessed with the new life of joy that will enliven the journey of your life in new and faith filled ways! Enjoy your Holy Saturday everyone and please know you are in my prayers throughout this day and always! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul
