Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday blessings and greetings to all. This is one of those rare Sunday’s when I have off. I had a Saturday evening mass last night but none today. It is nice to have a little break occasionally. I hope your Sunday has started off well and that you are enjoying a beautiful day wherever you are. And I also hope you will be giving God a little time today?
If you are traveling please travel safe. And a little shout out to my niece Bridget who came through the Hurricane in Hawaii in one piece. I am sure there were some anxious moments, but I got a text from her last night saying all was well. Whatever you are doing today, relaxing, working, traveling, vacationing or just being I pray that God’s blessing will be upon your Sunday filling it with the richness of joy, hope and the goodness of God’s presence. May today be filled with Spirit and life so that you will always know like Peter that Jesus has the words of everlasting life! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: Look upon us, O God, hear and enlighten us. Show us your very self. Teach us to seek you, and when we seek you, show yourself to us. Let us seek you in desiring you, and desire you in seeking you. Let us find you by loving you and love you in finding you. Amen. (Prayer by St. Anselm of Canterbury)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to all! It looks to be the beginning of another nice day here in the New York area. I hope the same is true where you are!
My prayer of blessing for all of you today is that your weekend will be a restful and relaxing far from the busyness that life often heaps upon us. I pray you have had a good weekend whether you were working, vacationing or traveling. I also pray that your day will be blessed with people that will gift your life with laughter, smiles and fun. Don’t forget to give a little time to God this weekend. Remember one hour is not a lot of time and God will appreciate hearing from you! Enjoy your Saturday. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God, teach us to be generous to serve you as you deserve to be served, to give without counting the cost, to fight without fear of being wounded, to work without seeking rest and to spend ourselves without expecting any reward but the knowledge that we are doing your holy will. Amen (Adapted from a prayer by St. Ignatius of Loyola)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all. I hope your Friday is starting off well and that you are looking forward to a fun and relaxing weekend when your Friday work day comes to an end!
We are in for a beautiful day and weekend here in the New York area, tots of sun and low humidity. I hope the same is true by you! We find ourselves beginning the last day of a traditional work week but for some of you it is a Friday in the midst of your vacation or in the midst of a working weekend. So, whatever this Friday means to you my prayer of blessing today for you is that God will bless us with his love today. May God bless us with a love that challenges us to love God, love others and love ourselves! May our Friday not be too busy, and may we be blessed with a beautiful, restful, relaxing weekend! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
Loving God, teach us to love as you love. Help us to make our love unconditional, honest, and kind. Help us to ask nothing in return and to let our love encompass the whole of humankind. Loving God, let us offer our love without speaking. Let it radiate as it shines forth from us. Let it be seen in our faces, in our eyes, and let it be simple, sincere, and shame free. Loving God, show us how to forgive as you forgive and help us to not burden another with guilt. Help us to not play the role of the martyr but to be a rock on which trust may be built. Loving God, let our love for you and others be greater by far than any love that is offered to us. Let our love be always led by the Spirit, inspired of you our God and as forgiving and free as Jesus’ love. Amen! (Adapted from a prayer by Virginia (Ginny) Ellis) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday blessings and greetings to all. I hope your day has started well? It is to be a sunny and warm day here in New York. We had a little rain last night but the next few days are to be nice. Hopefully the weather by you will be the same.
I am off early this morning to have blood drawn all in preparation for my annual physical on Monday. I have been trying to be a good boy with my eating lately but Monday will tell if I have been successful! My prayer of blessing today is adapted from the Irish tradition - May God bless all of you today so the road rises up to meet you and makes your journeys swift and easy. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And if the rain has to fall may it be soft upon the fields and upon you. And may you be truly blessed by God holding you in the palm of his hand throughout this day and always! Have a great day everyone! May it truly be blessed with many wonderful experiences, may gifted and loving people and perhaps even a piece of chocolate or an ice cream treat! Oh, go ahead it is still summer you can work on those extra pounds in the fall! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Grant, O God, that we may never fall away in success or in failure; that we may not be prideful in prosperity nor dejected in adversity. Let us rejoice only in what unites us and sorrow only in what separates us. May we strive to please no one or fear to displease anyone except you, our God. May we see always the things that are eternal and never those that are only temporal. May we shun any joy that is without you and never seek any that is beside you. Loving God, may we delight in any work we do for you and tire of any rest that is apart from you. Gracious God, let us direct our hearts towards you, and in our failings, let us always seek forgiveness with the firm purpose of being better people. Amen! (Adapted from a prayer by St. Thomas Aquinas)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Wednesday blessings and greetings to all! As I look out my window it looks to be nice day, but I know there is rain in the forecast. I hope your Wednesday is starting off well!
In the spirit of the Gospel today my prayer of blessing this morning is that God will bless your day with the grace of gratitude for the generosity of God. May you be blessed throughout this day and always with the compassion, mercy, love and generousness of God in the places you go, in the people you meet, in the things you do and in the gift of who you are in this world today! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
We live today… Christ with us, Christ before us, Christ behind us, Christ in us, Christ beneath us, Christ above us, Christ on our right, Christ on our left, Christ when we lie down, Christ when we sit down, Christ when we arise, Christ in the heart of every person who thinks of us, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of us, Christ in every eye that sees us, Christ in every ear that hears us. We live today… Through a mighty strength, the invocation of the Trinity, Through belief in the Threeness, Through confession of the Oneness of the Creator of creation. We live today…Thankful for a generous and loving God! Amen. |
