Today's Blessing and Pope Francis' Prayer during a time of Virus...

Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday greetings and blessings to all! I hope you are continuing to navigate through these unusual and at times difficult days with faith and a hopefulness for the future.

Once again as we journey through this uncertain time, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer…

O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick.
At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain,
with steadfast faith.
You, Salvation of All People, know what we need.
We are certain that you will provide, so that,
as you did at Cana of Galilee,
joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform ourselves to the Father’s will
and to do what Jesus tells us:
He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us,
through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.

We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God.
Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis)

My prayer of blessings today is that God’s blessings will be upon all of us throughout this day and that the gift of God’s grace will help us to be the wonderful, gifted people God has created us to be – a people who move beyond our comfort zones to do good and find life in all whom we encounter and in all that we say and do!  Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer:
For the expanding grandeur of Creation, worlds known and unknown, galaxies beyond galaxies, filling us with awe and challenging our imaginations: We give thanks this day.

For this fragile planet earth, its times and tides, its sunsets and seasons: We give thanks this day.

For the joy of human life, its wonders and surprises, its hopes and achievements: We give thanks this day.

For our human community, our common past and future hope, our oneness transcending all separation, our capacity to work for peace and justice in the midst of hostility and oppression: We give thanks this day.

For high hopes and noble causes, for faith without fanaticism, for understanding of views not shared, for the gift of many possibilities: We give thanks this day.

For all who have labored and suffered for a fairer world, who have lived so that others might live in dignity and freedom: We give thanks this day.

For human liberty and sacred rites; for opportunities to change and grow, to affirm and choose: We give thanks this day.

For doing good and saving life: We give you thanks this day.

We pray that we may live not by our fears but by our hopes, not by our words but by our deeds. Loving God, we give thanks this day!
(Adapted from a prayer by O. Eugene Picket)

Today’s Prayer: O God, we love you and our only desire is to love you until the last breath of our lives. If our tongues cannot say in every moment that we love you, we want our hearts to repeat it to you as often as we draw a breath. Amen. (Adapted from a prayer by St. John Vianney)

Today’s Prayer: Loving God, you have called us to be one, to live in unity and harmony and yet we are divided. O Lord, break down the walls that separate us, tear down the fences of indifference and hatred, forgive us the sins that divide us, free us from pride and self-seeking, help us overcome our prejudices and fears, give us courage to open ourselves to others; by the power of your Holy Spirit, make us one. Amen (Adapted from a prayer by the World Council of Churches – 1983)

I would like to send a shout out to the School Sisters of Notre Dame in the African Province. Today is the 10th Anniversary of the beginning of their province. It is an alive and growing province and I would just like to say happy anniversary, many blessings today and into the future. May the spirit of St. Augustine energize and enliven the ministry, the work and the lives of all who call themselves School Sisters of Notre Dame and who serve the people of Africa!

My prayer of blessing for all today is that our Loving God, the giver of all good gifts, will bless us today with hearts that love you, so that by deepening our sense of respect and reverence for ourselves we may nurture within ourselves and others only what is good. May God bless us with a watchful care throughout this day so that wherever we go and whatever we do it will be in, and through and with God. May God bless us with the spirit of St. Augustine as you journey through this day! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

In the spirit of St. Monica whom we honor today a shout out to all mothers that the gift of St. Monica’s spirit will be with you throughout your journey as mothers. And a prayer of thanks to all mothers, both living a deceased for their strength, courage, faithfulness and love!

My prayer of blessing for all us today is that our Loving God, the giver of all good gifts, will bless us today with hearts that love, so that by deepening our sense of respect and reverence for yourself and others we may nurture within ourselves and others only what is good. Today’s Prayer: Loving God, we pray today through the intercession of St. Monica for all mothers, grant them the grace to appreciate the dignity, grace and blessing which you have given them as mothers. Help them to realize that not even the Angels have been blessed with the privilege to share in your creative miracle of bringing new life into the world. Bless all mothers today and help them to be good, faithful, caring, nurturing and strong after the example of Mary, the Mother of your Son. Through the grace of Jesus’ love and the intercession Mary and Monica we ask your continued blessings upon all families. Let mothers and fathers be dedicated to your service on earth and attain the eternal happiness of your kingdom in heaven. Amen!
