Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday greetings and blessing to all and happy Feast of Christ the King! As the morning starts off it appears that we are going to have a sunny day much different from our very rainy day yesterday. They say the temperature will make it into the 50’s. How nice for the ending of the Thanksgiving weekend!
As we journey through this last Sunday of the Church year, let us offer a prayer for peace. A prayer for peace in everyone’s heart, in everyone’s soul, in everyone’s life! Have a blessed and holy Sunday. May we celebrate this day with joy and peace for this is the Day that the Lord has made so let us rejoice and be glad. May there always be work for us to do. May our pockets and purses always hold a coin or two. May the sun always shine warm on our windowpanes. May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of family, a loved one and a friend always be near, and may God fill our hearts with gladness and love that we in turn can share! May the blessing of Christ the Shepherd and Servant King be upon us today and always. Don’t forget to give God a little time sometime today. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to all. I hope your Saturday is starting off well. It is going to be a rainy and rather chilly day here in Fairfax, VA. Another better spent inside. I hope the weather greeting you today is a bit better! If you will be traveling home today please travel safely.
My prayer of blessing today is that our day will be blessed with the warmth of the sun lighting up a beauty of God’s creation. If the gift of the sun is not available, then may we be at least touched by the warmth of many smiles greeting us and guiding us through the gift of all the experiences that this day will bring. May our day be rich in the blessings of God’s grace, mercy, hope, joy and love wherever we go and in and through whomever we meet. And may we always be blessed in finding God’s presence within ourselves! Have a wonderful Saturday with many blessings! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God, source of all life, keep us faithful. Grant that we will always recognize the gift of life in all people and may we always be your children in truth and love. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all! I hope your day has started off well. It is the beginning of another cloudy and cold day here in Fairfax, VA, but hopefully the sun will make an appearance at some point in the day. It will probably be a good day for inside activities. I hope you will be enjoying a better weather day wherever you are.
It was a very nice Thanksgiving Day yesterday. Lots of food and good people to be with. It is always nice to gather with family and spend time with people I do not get a lot of time with. I hope wherever you are you too had a nice Thanksgiving. My prayer of blessing for all of us today is – Loving God keep us alert today and always to your unpredictable answers, to your unexplainable surprises and to your unrelenting presence. By your grace and love, make us ever grateful that we are one of your surprises each day of our lives. Bless us today and always with a faith, that moves mole hills and mountains, has often an unseen healing touch, lives everyday stories, celebrates simple suppers, and carries Crosses of Life which turn into Resurrections of hope. Help us to be people of faith, hope and love who are positive, respectful and open to all that is good and life giving. Amen. Blessing to all today! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
Lord Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, make us all witnesses of truth, justice and neighborly love. Banish for our hearts whatever might endanger peace. Enlighten our leaders that they may guarantee and defend the great gift of peace. May all peoples of the earth become sisters and brothers. May longed-for-peace blossom forth and reign always over us. Amen (Adapted from a prayer by St. John XXIII) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thanksgiving greetings and blessings to everyone! It looks likr a beautiful day here in Fairfax, but it is a very cold one. I hope the weather by you is making your day a beautiful one! I pray that you are where you want to be or are in the process of getting there safely!
Along with Thanksgiving I am also celebrating today the 65th anniversary of my baptism. Yes, 65 years ago on November 22, 1953, 20 days after I was born I was welcomed into the Church. Thanks to my parents I was dedicated to God this day and welcomed into this wonderful faith community called Church. And just 55 years ago we mourned as a nation the loss of our president. Yes, 55 years ago today President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed in Dallas, TX. Unfortunately, we still mourn people being shot in our nation not by terrorists, but by one another. Still no gun laws, still no respect for human life, still no peace! Today, my prayer of blessing will be one that I offered you last Thanksgiving. This Thanksgiving Day I pray that you will always find the blessing of thankfulness in your life. – God of all blessings, source of all life, giver of all grace. We thank you for the gift of life: for the breath that sustains life, for the food of this earth that nurtures life, for the love of family and friends without which there would be no life. We thank you for the mystery of creation: for the beauty that the eye can see, for the joy that the ear may hear, for the unknown that we cannot behold filling the universe with wonder, for the expanse of space that draws us beyond the definitions of our selves. We thank you for setting us in communities: for families who nurture our becoming, for friends who love us by choice, for companions at work, who share our burdens and daily tasks, for strangers who welcome us into their midst, for people from other lands who call us to grow in understanding, for children who lighten our moments with delight, for the unborn, who offer us hope for the future. We thank you for this day: for life and one more day to love, for opportunity and one more day to work for justice and peace, for neighbors and one more person to love and by whom be loved, for your grace and one more experience of your presence, for your promise: to be with us, to be our God, and to give salvation. For these and all blessings, we give you thanks, eternal, loving God, through Jesus Christ we pray. Amen. May the blessing of thankfulness be with you as you journey through this Thanksgiving Day and always! I pray that today will be filled with family, friends, food and thankfulness! Be safe today if you are traveling. Pray for peace in our families, our cities, our nations, our World and in ourselves. Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
Loving God of all thankfulness, your gifts of love and goodness are infinite, help us to pause this day and every day with gratitude for your kindness, mercy and love. Open our hearts to have concern for every person so that all may share your gifts. Finally help us to always recognize your gifts and return to give thanks! Amen! It is nice to get a little break from home and the New York area and to be with family. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving Mary, our mother, please give us a heart like yours, firm in its attachments and of unshakable loyalty; an affectionate heart that radiates a discreet tenderness; a pure heart that lives in the flesh without being burdened by it; a generous heart, quick in letting go of its hurts and always ready to forgive; a magnanimous heart that rejoices in other’s triumphs and shares in their sorrows; a heart that condemns no one and does not tire of being confided to; a heart taken up by Christ, totally given to his infinite love. Amen. (Adapted from a Traditional Prayer)
