Today's Blessing and Pope Francis' Prayer during a time of Virus...

Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday greetings and blessings to all and welcome to the last day of November! I hope you are continuing to navigate through these cold late November days with faith and a hopefulness for the future.

Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer…

O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick.
At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain,
with steadfast faith.
You, Salvation of All People, know what we need.
We are certain that you will provide, so that,
as you did at Cana of Galilee,
joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform ourselves to the Father’s will
and to do what Jesus tells us:
He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us,
through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.

We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God.
Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis)

I would ask your prayers over the next two days as I prepare for the taping of The Sunday Mass’ hour-long special Christmas Mass. The taping will take place tomorrow with our special presider Cardinal Joseph Tobin. Pray that all goes well with our set-up today and with the taping of the Christmas Mass tomorrow. Thanks in advance for your prayers.

My prayer of blessing today is that God will be with us as we enter this new day. May God bless all our endeavors today, all our meetings and encounters with others, all our projects, work and responsibilities today. May God bless our busyness and our quiet time. May God bless us and all whom we love with a day filled with his grace, hope, joy, love and peace. May God also bless us with a faith-filled journey through this day, through Advent and always! Have a holy and blessed Tuesday everyone. Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: O God, you keep us waiting for the right time in which to discover who we are, where we must go, who will be with us, and what we must do. And in all of this, you keep us. Through hard questions with no easy answers; through failing where we hoped to succeed and making an impact when we felt we were useless; through the patience and the dreams and the love of others, you keep us. Thank you for the keeping time, now and forever. Amen. (A Prayer from the Iona Community Worship Book)

Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday blessings and greetings to all, Happy New Year and Happy Advent! Yes, today we begin a new Church Year with the Season of Advent, a season that helps us prepare for the great feast of Christmas. A season that helps us pause in the midst of our journey of life to remember how things began and to where and what this journey of life is all about. I hope you will have a blessed and holy Advent this year, one that will enliven you with joy and hope for your journey ahead.

Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer…

My prayer of blessing - Today as we begin this New Year, this journey of Advent once again I pray for God’s blessing upon all of us. I pray that God will bless all of us with the wonder and awe of God’s presence during this wonderful season and always. I pray that God will bless us with the wonders of His mercy, hope and joy. I pray - O come, O come, Promised One of the ages. Come into our lives, come into our work places, come into our faith communities, come into our families, come into our homes, sit at our tables; dwell with joy in each of our hearts. O come, O come, Emmanuel, and set our hearts, our faith on fire with your mercy, joy, hope and love.

Have a blessed and holy First Sunday of Advent everyone! May you find the time during this hope filled season to connect with God each day. And remember to give God a little time today! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in us a wonder at the wisdom and power of your Father and ours. Receive our prayer as part of our service of the Lord who enlists us in God's own work for justice.

Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in us a hunger for peace: peace in the world, peace in our homes, and peace in ourselves.

Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in us a joy responsive to God's joy. We seek God’s will, so we can serve with gladness, joy, hope, and love.

Come, long-expected Jesus. Excite in us the joy and love and peace that is right to bring to the manger of our Lord. Enliven in us, too, sober reverence for the God who acted there, hearty gratitude for the life begun there, and spirited resolution to serve the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, whose advent we hail. Amen. (Adapted from a traditional Advent Prayer)

My prayer of blessing this morning is that God will bless us with a Saturday that we need at this moment in our lives. If we are busy about many things may we accomplish what we need to. It we hope for a day that is restful and relaxing may we be blessed with such a day. If we are traveling may our travels will be safe. Wherever we are, whomever we encounter and whatever we are about may we be blessed by God this day!

Again, have a wonderful Saturday and may we enter Advent with a new sense of awe and wonder in God's loving presence! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: O God, Creator of all, hear the prayers of your people today. Prayers that seek peace. Prayers that seek truth. Prayers that seek your love. Help us to know what is most important in life amid a world that often speaks to us words that are not life giving, placing importance on the trivial. May we hear with our hearts your words of everlasting life! Amen!
