Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday greetings and blessings to on this Thursday. I hope your last day of 2020 has started well and I hope and pray you are continuing to navigate through these unusual and at times difficult days with faith and a hopefulness for the future.
Once again as we journey through this uncertain time, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) I begin this day thankful for all the blessings of year that has passed, and yes, there were blessings! But I am also happy the year is ending and I am excited to bring in a New Year and put 2020 and all its challenges and struggles behind me. I pray all of you are where you need and want to be and that you will get a chance to celebrate perhaps in a different way from years past, tonight. If you need to travel, please travel safe. If you are going to be out and about at, around or after midnight, please be safe! I offer a simple blessing on this last day of 2020 - O Loving God, hear our prayers today as we pray in thanksgiving for the year that has just past and with hope for the year we are about to begin. Bless us with the strength, grace and wisdom that we have gathered over this last year and help us during the coming year to soften the hearts of all so that we may always know your friendship. Grant peace and prosperity to your people bless each of us today and always with your love. Amen! May all of us encounter God’s mercy, peace, hope and many new dreams in 2021. See you next year! Peace in Christ’s Passion...Fr. Paul
