Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday greetings and blessings to all. I hope you are continuing to navigate through these early Fall days with faith and a hopefulness for the future.
Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) I would ask your prayers this week as I begin a retreat for the Carmelite Sisters of the Aged and Infirmed in Germantown, NY this evening. The retreat will continue all week until next Saturday morning. Please if you have time offer a prayer each day for the sisters on retreat and for their preacher. My prayer of blessing today is that our journey through Sunday may be a good one. May we live by faith today and trust in the gift that we are. May God recognize our faith and bless us with the trust and willingness to let go and let God. If we are struggling with our faith may we find the strength to trust in the presence of God in our life. Blessings today upon all we do, upon everyone we meet and most importantly upon each one of us. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul
