A Runner’s Thoughts: “There is only one way to succeed in anything, and that is to give it everything.” (Vince Lombardi) Thus when we run, walk or move through life another way, in a spiritual way, we are brought into the process of God-ing. Meaning as we run, walk or move through life another way, we are not moving toward God but interacting with God along the way. Our run, walk or movement through life another way, becomes a direct physical, emotional and spiritual way of becoming who we are, our authentic selves. In the process we open up vast and unlimited opportunities to connect with God in new, life giving ways!

A Runner’s Thoughts: “Ability is what you are capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.” (Lou Holtz) Running, walking or moving through life another way can become a tool that helps us deal with the difficulties that we face. It can be a time to release the negative energies in our life. It can be a time to let go and let God!
A Runner’s Thoughts: You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement. (Steve Prefontaine) This is true for anything we do…
A Runner’s Thoughts: “The time is always right to do what is right.” (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.)
A Runners' Thoughts: Remember if we have the desire to run, walk or move through life another way with God, then the specifics of the techniques used do not matter very much just keep hold of the desire and God will be with you!
A Runner's Thoughts: Remember the little miracles of God that we encounter during a run, a walk or a movement through life another way are not because we finish but are because we find the courage to begin!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. A Runner’s Thoughts: “Maybe you don’t have to push yourself forward. Maybe you just have to stop holding yourself back.” (Doe Zantamata)
A Runner's Thoughts: Perhaps as we run today we too should choose the road less traveled: the road of awareness as we run, the road of revelation as we run, the road of intention as we run, the road of mindfulness as we run, the road of imagination as we run, the road of joy as we run, the road of prayer as we run. Today let's pick a road we have not traveled lately and let it make a difference in our life today!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Ability is what you are capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.” (Lou Holtz)
So, before your next run, walk or movement through life another way pause for a moment take a deep breath and ask God to run, walk or move another way with you. When you finish, take a moment to reflect on the sense of God’s presence that you felt as you ran, walked or moved another way through life. Try to carry this presence with you as you go through the rest of your day. |
