A Runner’s Thoughts: “The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something. Don’t wait for good things to happen to you. If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.”
(Former President Barack Obama)

A Runner’s Thoughts: “I think running is important for my health and fitness. It’s important in terms of my well-being. In terms of managing the everyday stresses, I just think it’s a matter of balance.” (Captain Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger) So too for those who walk or move through life another way…We are always looking for balance in our life!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Running transported him, taking his mind to another place, very deep within. Like prayer.” (Richard Christian Matheson, "Third Wind") Will we dare to let prayer take us to another place deep within ourselves today?
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Love means to love that which is unlovable, or it is no virtue at all; forgiving means to pardon that which is unpardonable, or it is no virtue at all.” (G.K. Chesterton)
A Runner’s Thoughts: “The task ahead of you is never greater than the strength within you.” (Unknown) Our journey of faith through life is never without the presence of God.
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.” (Dr. Seuss)
A Runner’s Thoughts: "When we journey without the Cross, when we build without the Cross, when we profess Christ without the Cross, we are not disciples of the Lord, we are worldly...My wish is that all of us will have the courage, yes, the courage, to walk in the presence of the Lord, with the Lord's Cross; to build the Church on the Lord's blood which was poured out on the Cross; and to profess the one glory: Christ crucified." (Pope Francis)
A Runner's Thoughts: “Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.” (St. John XXIII)
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” (Mahatma Gandhi)
A Runner’s Thoughts: As we move through life today let us try to make our day God-centered. In other words, let us make an action that honors God through the voices of nature. As we move let’s experience all the sounds of nature around us; the wind, the trees, the leaves. Let’s listen to the sounds of water if we wander near a creek, river or the ocean. Let’s be aware of the smells and scents of nature around us. Remember in the Psalms, the rivers clapped and the ocean roar in praise to God, so join in the chorus as you move today. Look, purposefully, for signs of God’s creation, offering praise. Become one among the many voices of creation to give praise as you run today.
