A Runner’s Thoughts: Endurance is not just the ability to bear a hard thing, but to turn it into glory. (William Barclay, Scottish Theologian)

A Runner’s Thoughts: You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement. (Steve Prefontaine)
A Runner’s Thoughts: Remember, as we run, it is not as if God is waiting at the finish line, or the end of the block or back in the driveway or at the side door. Rather, each step takes us closer to the realization that God's presence - God's grace - is with us already, and we need only to pay attention to that presence. In other words, let us let go of our expectations today as we run and let God! (Adapted from Running the Spiritual Path by Roger Joslin)
A Runner's Thoughts: As you run look for good in the world that you pass by, look for good in the people you encounter, sense the good in you and know you do not run alone, God runs with you!
A Runner's Thoughts: “Every major decision I’ve made in the last eight years has been prefaced by a run. Where else do you get those uninterrupted hours to do nothing but think?” (Casey Neistat) So as we run, walk or move through life another way today let us think of the impossible made possible through hard work, dedication and the prayer that we allow our runs to become.
A Runner's Thoughts: “A course never quite looks the same way twice. The combinations of weather, season, light, feelings, and thoughts that you find there are ever-changing.” (Joe Henderson) So run without fear today, breathe, run, walk, move through life by whatever means and permit the spirit of God's loving presence to be in each stride you take!
A Runner's Thoughts: As we run today let us remember that a meditative prayerful runner is fortunate enough to have found a way that refreshes the body and renews the spirit, thus enabling the runner to be born again with every runner in the presence of God.
A Runners' Thoughts: A runner who embarks on the journey of prayer and running can expect surprises, missteps, and perhaps great leaps toward a relationship with God! So as you run never underestimate the power of dreams, the influence of the human spirit and the presence of God!
A Runner's Thoughts: Let us look at our run today and every day as a tool, a device or a practice that aids us in our quest to be people of prayer. Remember - “Even if you fall flat on your face at least you are moving forward.” (Sue Luke)
A Runner's Thoughts: Sometimes we think of Sunday as a day of rest, yet we want to run. Perhaps we need to think of our running today and every Sunday as a time of rest, as a time of prayer, as a time that will renew, strengthen and enliven us for the new week ahead!
