Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday greetings and blessings everyone! I am very blessed to be here at Corpus Christi Parish in Bismarck, ND to celebrate a time of mission. This is a wonderful faith community, a beautiful church and I kicked of the mission this last night and will again today by celebrating and preaching all the masses. It is a snowy morning here in Bismarck and I can hear the wind whistling outside as I write this. I think it will be a cold walk to the church this morning. It is about a mile walk for me through the snow and cold but there is a wonderful spirit here, so it is well worth it! I am hoping the mission the next three day will be a spirit filled time for the faith community here and me.
My prayer of blessing today is that God’s blessings will be upon your Sunday – and upon the work week ahead and may God bless you with a relaxing and enjoyable day along with a peaceful and restful night when you get there. Please know you will be in my prayers as I celebrate a time of mission here in Bismarck and I ask your prayers for the faith community here at Corpus Christi and their preacher. Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: God of Life, be with us in our journey through Lent and life. Remind us of the story of your love each day that we may truly believe in our hearts that you are our God. In our moments of choice and decision help us to choose wisely. Have mercy on us when we don't. Remind us in the midst of our struggles to always call upon your name for help. Enrich us with your gift of hope that will enable us to always remember your love and with joy choose life and blessing. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to all. I hope you will have a restful and peaceful Saturday. If it happens to be a busy Saturday may you find a little time in the midst of your day to at least take a little breather. If you are in the midst of bone chilling cold, like myself, may you find a place a warmth.
I start another day in Bismarck, ND as I wait to begin my mission here. We will get started this afternoon at 4;00 pm. I will be celebrating and preaching all the masses this weekend with the mission formally beginning Monday. Please keep the faith community of Corpus Christi Parish in your prayers and if you could say an extra prayer for their preacher it would be appreciated! My prayer of blessing for us today is that no matter what we are doing today, whether it be resting or busy about many things that God will bless us with the wisdom and grace to recognize the present of God within us and in the people around us. Blessings to all and again, enjoy your day; enjoy your weekend. Do not forget to give God a little time this weekend! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Almighty and ever-loving God, look with compassion and mercy on our humanness, on all our struggles and weaknesses. Strengthen us for the journey ahead. Give us the wisdom to follow your call. Enliven us with the grace to be repairers and restorers of your love. Help us to be people of mercy and hope and to bring that mercy and hope to all we meet. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all. I hope your Friday is starting off well. I made my long journey to Bismarck, ND yesterday and I was greeted with very cold temperatures. Oh, the joy of winter! I hope you are weathering the cold or that the weather is a bit nicer and warmer where you are.
I hope you have had a good week. I hope you have had a good beginning of Lent, because like winter it is going to be a long journey. Today is a day off for me. I will do some work from afar with my computer but mainly I will prepare for my first Lenten Mission which will begin tomorrow at Corpus Christi Parish here in Bismarck. I am looking forward to this mission and all of my missions during Lent. My prayer of blessing today is that God’s blessings will be upon all of you who stop to journey with me through this life and through Lent. May today be a good end to the work week and may it be the beginning of a restful and relaxing weekend. Blessings and peace to all! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God, help us to walk in your ways. May our lives be about the gifts of your love and may our words, actions and works bring life to others and ourselves. May we never do anything for show but for the honor and glory of the kingdom. May what we do always reflect a concern for others. Be with us always and when we struggle may we always hear your voice say, "Do not fear, here I am!" Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday greetings and blessings to all. I trust you made it through Ash Wednesday and are now ready to set sail through Lent. I also hope you had a nice Valentine’s Day. Perhaps, you celebrated a day early or are waiting until the weekend to celebrate. Whenever you celebrated or will celebrate I hope it is a nice one!
In an hour or so I will begin my journey to Bismarck, North Dakota. I decided to fly out today just in case there are some weather issues and also because the flight was a little cheaper. I will be at Corpus Christi Parish in Bismarck beginning Saturday to celebrate a parish mission. The weather for my trip today looks pretty good but I am leaving the balmy east coast for the frozen tundra of the upper plains. I think the highest the temperature I will have over the next week is 30 degrees and that will be today when I land. The rest of my time there will be in the teens, single digits and below zero. Don’t I know how to have fun! As I make my journey west today I will have plenty of time to pray so my prayer of blessing for today is that God will bless us with the energy to be joyful people today and always. That we will see the gift of the road that we have chosen and celebrate that gift with all we meet. May we choose life and blessing all day today, through the strength of our faith, the energy of our hope and the richness of our love! Blessing to all today. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God of Life, as we stand before the roads that this day presents to us, enliven us with the wisdom to choose the road of life. As we walk this road less travel keep us ever mindful that we are not alone that you walk with us. Strengthen us for the crosses, the challenges of this road. Grace us with the hope that we will always find your presence, your forgiveness, your mercy, your truth and your love as we make this journey. May we choose the road of life today and let it make all the difference in our life and in the lives of all we meet! Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Wednesday greetings and blessings to all on this holy and blessed Ash Wednesday – welcome to Lent! I hope you will find the time today to say a little prayer and to be signed by the cross of ashes that will send you on your own journey of Lent.
We had a nice closing to the mission at the Church of the Good Shepherd last night. I think our three evening and two mornings together were a nice preparation for this year’s Lenten journey! I had an uneventful drive home for the most part. My prayer of blessing today comes from the liturgy itself – I pray that God blesses us all with the wisdom to know just how fragile we are that we came from dust and it is to dust that our bodies will return. I pray for God’s blessing of strength that we can turn away from the things that lead us away from God and that we can be faithful to the Gospel. May today be truly a blessed one and may it be the beginning of a wonderful, faith filled journey through Lent. May it be a journey that renews us, strengthens us and enlivens us with the gifts of God's mercy, faith, hope and love! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God, with ashes on our forehead we begin Lent knowing that the rest of the journey will not be pubic like today but perhaps more personal, more one on one with you. We will give up things or perhaps do things to hopefully focus our lives on what is most important. We will pray to draw strength for the journey. We will give of ourselves as your ambassadors so that it is not just about "me" but about "us" about You! And so, as we journey we ask you to create in us a clean heart and renew in us a steadfast spirit. Help us to remember that now, today is the right time, the acceptable time to encounter and know your love. Fill us with the hope that by your grace we are journeying together in your love. Amen!
