A Runner’s Thoughts: The reading for morning prayer today struck me as good advice as we begin our day – you might say it give us much food for thought! “Never let evil pass your lips; say only good things people need to hear, things that will really help them. Do nothing that will sadden the Holy Spirit with whom you were sealed against the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, all passion and anger, harsh words, slander, and malice of every kind. In place of these, be kind to one another, compassionate, and mutually forgiving just as God has forgiven you in Christ.” (Ephesians 4:29-32)

Our lips are the most powerful sword that can give the deepest hurt to someone. Words spoken cannot be recalled, so we must be careful and think twice before we speak. Those words can be forgiven, but not easily forgotten. Never let your words out when you're angry, there will never be good thoughts when you feel hatred. Let us be cautious and spread only good words to one another.
