The Eighth Station - Jesus Consoles the Women
We adore you O Christ and we praise you.
Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world!
Christ Speaks: How often had I longed to take the children of Jerusalem and gather them to me. But they refused. But these women cry for me and my heart is moved for them - my heart mourns for their sorrows that will come. I comfort those who seek to comfort me. How gentle can you be, my friend? How kind can you be?
We Speak: Loving Jesus, you compassion in your Passion, is beyond my understanding, beyond compare. Please teach us, help us to learn how to be compassionate even in the midst of our struggles. When we snap that those who hurt us with their harsh words, when those who misunderstand or hinder us with some misguided helpfulness, when those who intrude upon our privacy - help us in these moments to hold our tongue. Let gentleness become our clock. Jesus, make us compassionate, loving and kind like you!
