The Thirteenth Station - Jesus Is Placed in His Mother's Arms
We adore you O Christ and we praise you.
Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world!
Christ Speaks: The sacrifice is done. Yes, my Eucharist is complete: but not my mother's and not yours, my friend. My mother still must cradle in her arms the lifeless body of the son she bore. You, too, must part from those you love and grief will come to you. In your bereavements think of this: a multitude of souls were saved by Mary's sharing in my Calvary. Your grief can also be the price of souls.
We Speak: We beg you, Jesus, help us accept the partings in our lives that must come- friends who go away, children who leave home, and most of all loved ones when you call them to yourself. Give us grace to say: "as it has pleased you, Lord, to take them home, we bow to your most holy will. And if by just one word we might restore their lives against your will we will not speak." Grant them eternal joy, O God!
