Today’s Thoughts: We might say that “Everyone needs to learn something. – No body knows it all!” Many people think they are “know it alls,” but when push comes to shove, we all need to learn at every moment of our life. In our first reading today from the Acts of the Apostles we encounter an example of the need to be open to learning, to growing. Apollos is an eloquent speaker he has a lot of wisdom and is an authority on the scriptures, but he still needs to learn. Aquila and Priscilla pull him aside and help him to grow in this ministry and relationship with God.
We all have room to grow. None of us has it all figured out. We have always got to be reminded that God is in charge. We do nothing, we accomplish nothing without the help and presence of God in our life. Sometimes it doesn’t seem like God is listening or responding to our needs and wants. We use Jesus’ name but often there seems to be silence. We have always got to learn that prayer is not about asking it is about seeking and inviting. Seeking to do what God asks of us. Inviting God into our lives to share our joys and struggles. Yes, the living of life is always about learning no matter how smart we think we are. There is always room to learn, to grow and to encounter the presence of God in a new way. If we can be open to learning and growing God will always hear our prayers! Have a blessed Saturday everyone!
