A Runner's Thoughts: Let's make our run today a God centered run. Let us honor the voice of God in nature, experiencing all the sounds and sights of nature as we run. We can let our breath join in the chorus and we look purposefully for all the signs of God in nature because if we do this we surely will not be running alone!

A Runner's Thoughts: Remember our faith is like running, walking or moving through life another way – the journey is rarely a straight line. There are often hills, valleys and bumps in the road but we must always make the choice to keep looking ahead because God is always right around the corner!
A Runner's Thoughts: Remember it is possible to begin a meditation run, walk or movement in another way simply by stepping on to the side walk, the street, the track, the path, a treadmill and putting one foot in front of the other. In fact, the simplicity of this is one of the great joys of moving!
A Runner's Thoughts: “Fear is something I try not to absorb.” (Mark E. Smith) And remember love casts out fear!
A Runner's Thoughts: “If you want to become the best runner you can be, start now. Don’t spend the rest of your life wondering if you can do it.” (Priscilla Welch) So to in the spiritual life…If you want to be the best person of faith that you can be start today so you don’t spend the rest of your life wondering if you can.
A Runner’s Thoughts: Here are some words to ponder and perhaps even live by from Paul Maurer’s book, The Gift – A Runner’s Story. “Running isn't a sport for pretty boys...It's about the sweat in your hair and the blisters on your feet. It’s the frozen spit on your chin and the nausea in your gut. It's about throbbing calves and cramps at midnight that are strong enough to wake the dead. It's about getting out the door and running when the rest of the world is only dreaming about having the passion that you need to live each and every day with. It's about being on a lonely road and running like a champion even when there's not a single soul in sight to cheer you on. Running is all about having the desire to train and persevere until every fiber in your legs, mind, and heart is turned to steel. And when you've finally forged hard enough, you will have become the best runner you can be. And that's all that you can ask for.”
While Mr. Maurer is talking about running it is a great example, image of what the journey of faith is about too! A Runner's Thoughts: “To me, the runner’s high is a sensational reaction to a great run! It’s an exhilarating feeling of satisfaction and achievement.” (Sasha Azevedo) So remember run, walk or move through life another way in such a way that allows you to find pleasure in the experience and helps you to know the presence of God is with you!
A Runner's Thoughts: “When people ask me why I run, I tell them, there’s not really a reason, it’s just the adrenaline when you start, and the feeling when you cross that finish line.” (Courtney Parsons) So transform an ordinary run, walk or movement through life another way into a sacred one by bringing to the run, walk or movement through life another way a sense of God presence in you!
