A Runner's Thoughts: Let us journey through life today with a spirit of gratefulness. Before we begin our day, let's declare our intention to look upon all we encounter with the freshness of the unexpected. It has been said that "surprise leads us on the path of gratefulness." So, let us live life today with a sense of miraculous expectation and allow feelings of gratitude for the extraordinary and the ordinary to flow through our being!
A Runner's Thoughts: “Virtues are formed by prayer. Prayer preserves temperance, suppresses anger, prevents emotions of pride and envy. Prayer draws into the soul the Holy Spirit, and raises us to heaven.” (St. Ephrem of Syria)
A Runner's Thoughts: “One ought, every day at least, to hear a little song, read a good poem, see a fine picture, and, if it were possible, to speak a few reasonable words.” (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)
A Runner's Thoughts: “Situations can change; people can change. Be the first to seek to bring good. Do not grow accustomed to evil but defeat it with good.” (Pope Francis)
A Runner's Thoughts: “Be willing to be a beginner every single morning.” (Meister Eckhart)
A Runner's Thoughts: “Let us meet at the foot of the cross, where we will find strength and courage.” (St. Bernadette Soubirous)
A Runner's Thoughts: “Let us never tire, therefore, of seeking the Lord—of letting ourselves be sought by him—of tending over our relationship with him in silence and prayerful listening. Let us keep our gaze fixed on him, the center of time and history; let us make room for his presence within us.” (Pope Francis)
A Runner's Thoughts: “We must be ready to allow ourselves to be interrupted by God.” (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)
A Runner's Thoughts: “Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about your frustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do.” (St. John XXIII)
