A Runner’s Thoughts: This morning as I was praying the morning prayer of the Church I read, prayed, this passage for Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians (4:29-32) – “Never let evil talk pass your lips; say only the good things people need to hear, things that will really help them. Do nothing that will sadden the Holy Spirit with whom you were sealed against the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, all passion and anger, harsh words, slander, and malice of every kind. In place of these, be kind to one another, compassionate, and mutually forgiving, just as God has forgiven you in Christ.” - I pray these word on Friday every four weeks. Good words to consider and live by today and always!

A Runner’s Thoughts: “Not just exercise, but a way to get in touch with and reclaim myself in an often fragmenting world, running, [walking or moving through life another way] also serve as a powerful antidotes to clinical depression, metaphors for the creative processes, and, in their most profound moments, spiritual practices.” (Adapted from Alison Townsend)
A Runner’s Thoughts: Today accept your run, walk or movement through life another way for what it is, remembering that this is a spiritual practice that, like any discipline, requires persistence through experiences of success and seeming failure. (Adapted from Roger Joslin – Running the Spiritual Path)
A Runner’s Thoughts: I have two thoughts for you today… Remember that if we are meditative movers through life, if we are movers at prayer then with each run, walk or movement through life another way we are fortunate to have found a way to refreshes not only our bodies but also our spirits. You might say with each movement through life we give ourselves the change to be born again in friendship with God! (Adapted from Roger Joslin – Running the Spiritual Path) – “You only ever grow as a human being if you're outside your comfort zone.” (Percy Cerutty)
A Runner’s Thoughts: “I know that when I finish strong, I’m cultivating and honoring the love and commitments in my life. As a runner, it’s time to apply that hard-earned wisdom to everything I do.” (Kristin Armstrong) So whether we run, walk or move through life another way we are to apply wisdom to everything that we do!
