A Runner’s Thoughts: “Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, it knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you'd better be running, [or walking or moving through life another way.]” (Christopher McDougall) And as a friend often says…So to in the spiritual life!

A Runner’s Thoughts: “Not just exercise, but a way to get in touch with and reclaim myself in an often-fragmenting world, running also serves as a powerful antidote to clinical depression, a metaphor for the creative process, and, in its most profound moments, a spiritual practice.” (Alison Townsend) Whether you run, walk or move through life another way today be spiritual on your journey!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Not only in running but in much of life is a sense of balance and proportion necessary.” (Clarence DeMar)
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Running is a mental [and spiritual] sport, more than anything else. You're only as good as your training, and your training is only as good as your thinking [and your praying].” (Lauren Oliver) So regardless of whether you run, walk or move through life another way, take some time to think and pray today!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “I often hear someone say I'm not a real runner. We are all runners, some just run faster than others. I never met a fake runner.” (Bart Yasso) Same is true for those who walk or move through life another way… Might we also say this about people of faith? It is easy to judge, but we never know what is in a person’s heart. With that said I have never met a fake person of faith!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “We all have dreams. In order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.” (Jesse Owens) Whether we run, walk or move through life another way, or work at being a person of faith it takes determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.
A Runner’s Thoughts: Running, walking or moving through life another way doesn't have to be monotonous if you put a little imagination into your step. So to in the spiritual life…faith never has to be boring and imagination goes a long way in helping us discover God in our life!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Running is a thing worth doing not because of the future rewards it bestows, but because of how it feeds our bodies and minds and souls in the present.” (Kevin Nelson) Whether you run, walk or move through life another way today feed your soul!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Running is not, as it so often seems, only about what you did in your last race or about how many miles you ran last week. It is, in a much more important way, about community, about appreciating all the miles run by other runners, too.” (Richard O'Brien) So to when we walk or move through life another way and as we journey through our spiritual life…
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Looking forward to something is much more fun than looking back at something – and much more constructive.” (Hortense Odlum) So to in the spiritual life...
