A Runner’s Thoughts: “As every runner knows, running is about more than just putting one foot in front of the other; it is about our lifestyle and who we are.” (Joan Benoit Samuelson) The same is true if we walk or move through life another way… It is true when we talk about faith. Faith is more than just reciting prayers or going to mass every Sunday, though like putting one foot in front of the other when we run, walk or move through life another way these rituals are important. Faith is about how we live our life. Faith is like taking a breath. We need to breathe when we run, walk or move about life in other ways. It is the same with faith. A person of faith situates her or his faith in every aspect of life. Faith is about who we are. So today and every day let us be runners, walkers or movers through life another way but also let us be people of faith!

A Runner’s Thoughts: “You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching, Love like you'll never be hurt, Sing like there's nobody listening, And live like it's heaven on earth.”
(William W. Purkey) A Runner’s Thoughts: “Your love must be sincere. Detest what is evil, cling to what is good. Love one another with the affection of sisters and brothers. Anticipate each other in showing respect. Do not grow slack but be fervent in spirit; the person you serve is the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient under trial, persevere in prayer.” (Romans 12:9-12)
A Runner’s Thoughts: “To be human is to change, to be perfect is to have changed many times.” (Cardinal Newman)
Runner’s Thoughts: As I prayed morning prayer this morning the first psalm prayer that I prayed struck me as it often does when I pray it as a good reminder of how to live life… “Father creator of unfailing light, give that same light to those who call to you. May our lips praise you; our lives proclaim your goodness; our works give you honor, and our voices celebrate you forever.”
A Runner’s Thoughts: “This nation is affluent and has more than it needs. The realization that what we have is a free gift can deepen our desire to share this gift with others who cry out for help. When we bless the fruits of harvest, let us at least realize that blessed fruits need to be shared.” (Henri Nouwen)
A Runner’s Thoughts: “It’s not just about the body, it’s being able to do it again, every day, mentally—to be strong enough to get up, when you’re absolutely on your knees, but you have to get up and get running.” (Mimi Anderson) So to whether you run, walk or move through life another way…the challenge is always to get up and move!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.” (St. Francis of Assisi)
A Runner’s Thoughts: “The terrain of my life is constantly shifting. I can either quit or get on my toes.” (Erika Doherty) The terrain of all of our lives is constantly shifting and we can either quit or keep moving in some way – running, walking or moving through life in whatever way we can. We just cannot stop and give up!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Looking forward to something is much more fun than looking back at something – and much more constructive.” (Hortense Odlum) So to in the spiritual life...
