A Runner’s Thoughts: “Struggle is the food from which change is made, and the best time to make the most of a struggle is when it's right in front of your face.
Now, I know that might sound a bit simplistic. But, too often we're led to believe that struggling is a bad thing, or that we struggle because we're doing something wrong. I disagree. I look at struggle as an opportunity to grow. True struggle happens when you can sense what is not working for you and you're willing to take the appropriate action to correct the situation. Those who accomplish change are willing to engage the struggle.” (Danny Dreyer)

A Runner’s Thoughts: “Mental will is a muscle that needs exercise, just like the muscles of the body.” (Lynn Jennings) So to in the spiritual life…Faith is our spiritual muscle that needs strengthened just like our mental and physical muscles.
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Shift from thinking to feeling–feel yourself accomplishing your goal. Take that feeling out of your head and put it into your heart. Embrace it as the reality.” (Erin Taylor) So to in the spiritual life – Don’t just think God, feel God today. Put God in your heart!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Runners don't quit. We fade; we "hit the wall"; we're sometimes reduced to a walk. But we keep on.” (Amby Burfoot) So too if we walk or move through life another way… and if we move through life in a spiritual faith filled way!
A Runner’s Thoughts: Some words of inspiration and faith for today are – “I run because long after my footprints fade away, maybe I will have inspired a few to reject the easy path, hit the trails, put one foot in front of the other, and come to the same conclusion I did: I run because it always takes me where I want to go.” (Dean Karnazes) And I believe, I have faith in God, in Christ, in the Spirit, because long after I am gone maybe I will have inspired a few to reject the easy road, hit the Eucharist, prayer and community, put one foot in front of the other, and come to the same conclusion I did: I believe because it always takes me to God’s love!
A Runner's Thoughts: "Run in the present moment, not from something and not to something. Strive for a grace-filled as well as a graceful run." (Roger Joslin) Congrats to all who ran the New York Marathon yesterday!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “True heroism is remarkably sober, very undramatic. It is not the urge to surpass all others at whatever cost, but the urge to serve others at whatever cost.” (Arthur Ashe)
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Believe that you can run farther or faster. Believe that you're young enough, old enough, strong enough, and so on to accomplish everything you want to do. Don't let worn-out beliefs stop you from moving beyond yourself.” (John Bingham) This is true for anything we do in life…
A Runner’s Thoughts: “I run because if I didn’t, I’d be sluggish and glum and spend too much time on the couch. I run to breathe the fresh air. I run to explore. I run to escape the ordinary. I run… to savor the trip along the way. Life becomes a little more vibrant, a little more intense. I like that.” (Dean Karnazes)
A Runner’s Thoughts: Some words of inspiration and faith are - “You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement.” (Steve Prefontaine) And sometime in the journey of faith you wonder why you keep moving forward, why you believe and there are thousands of doctrines, dogma, codes of cannon law, commandments, precepts of the Church that gives you reasons to believe but I always come back to where it started. My faith comes down to the Cross the sign of God’s great love for me!
