A Runner’s Thoughts: “Life is for participating, not for spectating.” (Kathrine Switzer) The same is true about faith, thus if we say we believe, we have faith then we need to be participating not spectating. So, get out there and be a person of faith today – and maybe run a little too!

A Runner’s Thoughts: “We ought to speak, shout out against injustices, with confidence and without fear. We proclaim the principles of the Church, the reign of love, without forgetting that it is also a reign of justice.” (Blessed Miguel Augustin Pro)
A Runner’s Thoughts: “At first glance it may appear too hard. Look again. Always look again.” (Mary Anne Radmacher, author)
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Struggle is the food from which change is made, and the best time to make the most of a struggle is when it's right in front of your face.
Now, I know that might sound a bit simplistic. But, too often we're led to believe that struggling is a bad thing, or that we struggle because we're doing something wrong. I disagree. I look at struggle as an opportunity to grow. True struggle happens when you can sense what is not working for you and you're willing to take the appropriate action to correct the situation. Those who accomplish change are willing to engage the struggle.” (Danny Dreyer) A Runner’s Thoughts: “If you are losing faith in human nature, go out and watch a marathon.” (Kathrine Switzer) If you are losing faith in yourself go to the celebration of the Eucharist or watch one on TV or the internet and look at the community of faith that is struggling with you!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Shift from thinking to feeling–feel yourself accomplishing your goal. Take that feeling out of your head and put it into your heart. Embrace it as the reality.” (Erin Taylor) So to in the spiritual life – Don’t just think God, feel God today. Put God in your heart!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Do everything without grumbling or questioning…” (Phil. 2:14)
A Runner’s Thoughts: Some words of inspiration and faith for today are – “I run because long after my footprints fade away, maybe I will have inspired a few to reject the easy path, hit the trails, put one foot in front of the other, and come to the same conclusion I did: I run because it always takes me where I want to go.” (Dean Karnazes) And I believe, I have faith in God, in Christ, in the Spirit, because long after I am gone maybe I will have inspired a few to reject the easy road, hit the Eucharist, prayer and community, put one foot in front of the other, and come to the same conclusion I did: I believe because it always takes me to God’s love!
A Runner’s Thoughts: “Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.” (Fr. Pierre Teilhard De Chardin, SJ)
A Runner’s Thoughts: Some words of inspiration and faith are - “You have to wonder at times what you're doing out there. Over the years, I've given myself a thousand reasons to keep running, but it always comes back to where it started. It comes down to self-satisfaction and a sense of achievement.” (Steve Prefontaine) And sometime in the journey of faith you wonder why you keep moving forward, why you believe and there are thousands of doctrines, dogma, codes of cannon law, commandments, precepts of the Church that gives you reasons to believe but I always come back to where it started. My faith comes down to the Cross the sign of God’s great love for me!
