Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday greetings and blessings to all! I hope your Tuesday is starting off well. It is a beautiful morning here in South Bend. No rain in sight and I am hoping it remains that way for the rest of the day. I hope you are enjoying a beautiful summer day too!
It will be a full day here at the preaching conference. We got off to a good start yesterday afternoon and evening and I am looking for more of the same today. It is always lifegiving being with a group of people who are focused on preaching and making it better. My prayer of blessing today is that we are energized and ready to give it our all today. I pray that we will have a great day! One filled with the presence of God so that we will encounter many blessings, much hope, a little peace, much laughter and a beauty of a summer’s day! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer:
O God, we thank you for the gift of this day. Give us the energy we need to face our work; with the attentiveness we need to do it well. Give us the self-discipline we need to finish it even if no one sees and no one praises us. Give us the self-respect which will inspire us not to produce anything which is less than our best. Give us the courtesy and the considerateness which will make us easy to live and work with. Help us to live today so that we will make the world a happier more hopeful place wherever we go. Amen! (Adapted from a prayer by William Barclay) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday greetings and blessings and happy Feast of the Birth of John the Baptist! I hope everyone’s day is starting off well. I begin my day in Youngstown, Ohio where I arrived last night. It is just a stop over on my way to the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. I did not get away from New York as early as I had hoped so this was as far as I got yesterday. In a little while I will hit the road again and continue my journey. As I said above I hope your day is starting well and that it will be another day that you move through with a lively step and a hopeful purpose.
I pray for God’s blessings today upon all of us, our work, our ministry, those whom we meet and those whom we love! May we enjoy the places we go to, the people we encounter and the experiences that we have! May we have a blessed and holy Monday! Remember, “Seek God and you will find God and every good thing as well!” (Meister Eckhart) May you be rich in the spirit of John the Baptist today. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God, it is hard sometimes to believe that you are really present in this world of ours. But with the help of your grace we do believe it! So in the spirit of your faithful prophet, John the Baptist today, please help us to live our life in such a way that it will be easier for others to recognize you. When we find doubt, help us to bring a little light. Where we find discouragement, let us be a ray of hope in the darkness. To those who feel estranged and alienated from you and your Church, let us be like a bridge and when we encounter people who have been hurt or feel misunderstood, grace us with the wisdom to leave only the imprint of your healing love and compassion. Loving God, wherever we go and to whomsoever we meet, help us to be an instrument of your compassion, love and peace. Amen. (Adapted from a prayer by Sr. Bernice Kuper, S.P.)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday greetings and blessings to all! I hope your Sunday has started off well or is starting off well. It is a beautiful sunny day here in the New York area and the word is it will be a beautiful day throughout. It is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ and so we focus on the spiritual food which nourishes us and sustains us on our journey of faith through life. It is a time to remember how blessed and how loved we are by God. It is a day to give a little time to God, so I hope you remember to give God a little time today!
In a little while I will be on the road making my way to the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. I will be attending a preaching conference there from Monday afternoon until Thursday morning. I have gone to this preaching conference a number of times now. It is held every two years and I am looking forward to my time at Notre Dame and to the conference once again. My prayer of blessing today is that God will bless us with the richness of family, friends, peace, and rest throughout this Sunday. If you are traveling like me may God bless us with safe travel. May God truly be with us and those we love, keeping us safe as we enjoy the gifts of God’s creation. May we recognize the presence of God around us and within us today. May we remember that Christ has no body now on earth but ours! Have a great day and remember “Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God.” (Fr. Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, SJ) – Have a great Sunday and blessings upon your coming week! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Christ has no body but yours, No hands, no feet on earth but yours, Yours are the eyes with which he looks Compassion on this world, Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good, Yours are the hands, with which he blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, Yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now but yours, No hands, no feet on earth but yours, Yours are the eyes with which he looks compassion on this world. Christ has no body now on earth but yours. (Prayer by St. Teresa of Avila) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to all! I hope your Saturday has started off well? It looks to be a sunny morning here in the New York area. I hope the beginning of this day is a beautiful one for you.
My prayer of blessing today is that God will bless our day and our journey through it. May we be gifted and blessed with smiles, laughter, family, friends, fun and peace today! And if we are traveling today that we will be blessed with safe travel. May we all have a great day, and may we be blessed with God’s joy in whatever we do and wherever we go. May God’s joy be found in the people we meet today and within us! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding and my entire will, all I have and call my own. You have given all to me. To you, Lord, I return it. Everything is yours; do with it what you will. Give me only your love and your grace. That is enough for me. (A prayer by St. Ignatius Loyola)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all. May this be a day of many blessings for all. Our day here in the New York area has begun with rain once again but they say it will turn sunny. I hope the same is true wherever you are today!
I have a doctor’s appointment this morning and then I will head to the Wartburg Home for mass and finally on to The Sunday Mass office to clear my desk as I prepare to head to Notre Dame next week for a preaching conference. I hope your week has gone well and that you will get a chance to enjoy the weekend that is almost upon us. Have a great Friday everyone and may God bless us as we journey through this day. May today be rich in God’s grace for us, our loved ones and everyone we meet. May our work today be blessed with the richness of God’s presence. May any traveling we might be doing today, or this weekend be safe and bring us back home at some point safe and sound. Let us enjoy our day and may our Friday be filled with God’s love, mercy and peace the greatest treasures of all! Peace in Christ Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God, we thank you this day for loving us and we open our hearts and ask you to come in. Please make our hearts your home now and forever. Teach us where our hearts must be and be the true treasure in our life. Help us to always make you the center of our life. Amen!
