Today’s Blessing Prayer: Holy Saturday greetings and blessings to all! I hope you had a blessed and holy Good Friday. I hope you got to spend a little time in prayer. The liturgy of Good Friday is so simple it is one of my favorite days to just sit in a church or a chapel and be. I had the great privilege of preaching at the service yesterday and I have to say that being a Passionist there is no greater gift than to proclaim the Good Word on Good Friday!
This evening I will once again be preaching at OLPH Parish here is Pelham Manor. It will be a wonderful way to celebrate the Easter Vigil. But for now, it is a time of waiting. My prayer of blessing today is that your Holy Saturday may be rich in the warmth of the sun, that it may be a day when you can hope for all the goodness that Easter is. And may you be blessed with the new life of joy that will enliven the journey of your life in new and faith filled ways! Enjoy your Holy Saturday everyone and please know you are in my prayers throughout this day and always! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: Loving God as we wait today make ready our hearts that they may be inflamed with your presence. Enkindle in them the fire of your love. Grace our souls with the song of your hope, a song, and a tune that will never stop. Strengthen us with patience, strengthen us with energy, gift us with wisdom and enliven us with joy. We make this prayer as your faith filled people embraced by your love and dancing to the rhythm of the song of hope! Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Good Friday greetings and blessings to all! I trust you had a blessed Holy Thursday and were able to find a little time to connect with God. I know many of you probably have to work today but hopefully you will be able to at least find a few moments of quiet to make holy this Good Friday. If you can make a visit to a church and sit for a little while before the Cross of Christ and remember that God so loved the world that he gave us his only Son that would be great. If you can attend the Lord’s Passion Service that would be excellent, it is one of the simplest and most beautiful liturgies that we have as a Church.
Yesterday afternoon I was privileged to celebrate the Eucharist of the Lord’s Supper for the residents of the Wartburg Home. We did not do the washing of the feet but at least we were able to bring the gift of Holy Thursday to people who otherwise could not have celebrated it. Then last night I celebrated with the faith community at Our Lady of Perpetual help in the Pelham Manor and had the honor of preaching the Good Word. The parish had a special dinner before the Eucharist of the Lord’s Supper. It was very well done. The dinner was in silence with music and readings throughout the meal. The Eucharist of the Lord’s Supper was a very prayerful celebration and I was able to stay for a while after the mass was over to just pray before the Reposition Altar. Today I will return to OLPH for their Good Friday Service at 3 pm. Once again, I will be preaching. There is no other place I would want to be than proclaiming the Good News on Good Friday. I am truly a blessed Passionist today! My prayer of blessing today is simply that somehow today you are touch by the magnanimous love of God. That you are blessed with the grace to believe in God’s love. A love that is ground in our friendship with Jesus because there is no greater love than to lay down your life for your friends, Jesus laid down his life today for us, his friends. I send my prayers and I ask God's blessings upon all of you and your loved ones. May the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ be always in our hearts! Peace in Christ's Passion today and always...Fr. Paul Note: At 7 pm EDT this evening I will pray the Stations of the Cross on line. Perhaps you might take some time to pray with me? Go to www.preacherman.org and make the journey to Calvary with me. Today’s Prayers: Today I offer you two simple little prayers to guide you through this day. The first comes from our Passionist tradition it is a simple prayer we utter each day - "May the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ be always in our hearts!"
The second prayer was written by the great Jesuit theologian Fr. Karl Rahner, S.J. - "The Cross of My Lord, Be my Standard, Be my Comfort, Be the Answer to all dark questions, The Light of all nights, The Sign that You have chosen us, The mysterious and sure Sign that we are Yours for eternity. Amen." Today’s Blessing Prayer: Holy Thursday greetings and blessings to everyone! My morning has started rather early I guess my mind started to work before the rest of me was ready. My eye opened this morning before 3 am and my mind has been going ever since. I hope your Holy Thursday has started well and this it will truly be a blessed day. The sun is not up yet, and I am not sure what is in store for us weather wise today. I believe it is to be a cloudy day with temperatures a little on the cool side. Whatever the day brings may it help us to feel the richness of Holy Thursday.
I will have a somewhat busy day as I will celebrate mass this afternoon at 4 pm at the Wartburg Home in Mount Vernon and then head to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish here in Pelham Manor as they have a special evening supper before the Eucharist of the Lord’s Supper. I am looking forward to joining the parish community to celebrate this most holy of evenings and sharing the Good News with them. Please keep all who gather this holy night to remember in your prayers. I hope you will be able to get to at least some of the services over the next three days if not for the whole service perhaps just for a short visit so that you might stay in touch with the holiness, blessing and grace of these days. Please make a visit or spend some time in prayer. Take a little break for the busyness of life to be touched by God’s grace! My prayer of blessing for all of you today is that the infinite tenderness of God might touch your life and that you will be blessed over these most holy days with the mercy and joy of the Cross, which springs from the knowledge that we possess an imperishable treasure in perishable earthen vessels. Holy Thursday blessings to all! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Pau Today’s Prayer: O God, in the fullness of time you revealed your love in Jesus. On this remembrance of the eve of his death, we recall how as a sign of your covenant, Jesus washed the feet of his friends and gave himself as Eucharist.
We pray today that you will give us life through the Eucharist and the gift of your joy to follow Christ in humble service. So that one day we may pass over from this world to your kingdom and enjoy the blessing of eternal joy. Amen! Today’s Blessing Prayer: Greetings and blessings to all on this Spy Wednesday. I hope your day has started well. It looks like a rainy morning here in Pelham. I hope the weather is better by you today.
I will be headed to the Wartburg Home for mass this morning and then I am making my final preparations for the next three days ahead of me. I will be celebrating Holy Thursday Mass at the Wartburg Home tomorrow afternoon and I will be preaching the Triduum, Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Pelham Manor. Easter Sunday I will celebrate two masses the 10:30 am and Noon at St. John and St. Mary’s Parish in Chappaqua. Tomorrow I will be preaching the 7:30 pm Mass of the Lord’s Supper, then on Good Friday I will preach the 3:00 pm Service of the Lord’s Passion and on Holy Saturday I will preach the Easter Vigil beginning at 7:30 pm all at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Pelham Manor. So, if you happen to be in the area come and celebrate with us. Hopefully your day, will be filled with God’s many blessings and I pray that you will take some time to enter into the holiness of these next few days. If not, if you are too busy, please know that as I journey through them you will be held in my prayers. My prayer of blessing today is that God will bless you with the trust, the faith, the hope, the love, the mercy and the joy to never give up on your relationship with God. That you will always know even in the midst of your struggles and the struggles of the world that God is with you and that God will never leave you to face life alone! Have a blessed day. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: At the name of Jesus every knee must bend in heaven, on earth and under the earth and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father! Loving God, help us to always be faithful and may the gods of the world not temp us into betraying our friendship with you. Grace us with the strength to always trust in your presence especially when we struggle. Help us to keep hope and joy alive through your word and sacrament! Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday greetings and blessings to everyone! I hope your day is starting out well. They say it will be a mostly cloudy day here with a chance of rain tonight. It looks like we will be in the high 40’s or low 50’s the rest of the week with no 60’s in sight. Sigh, I pray warmth will come soon. I am not looking for summer just temps a little warmer!
My prayer asking for God’s blessing today is that you will all have a great day. One filled with many blessings. If you are encountering a bad day take a moment to remember that you are in my prayers and that God does love you. Perhaps that pause will help to turn the tide from a bad day to a good one. I pray that all of you will be rich in the special graces of this most holy of weeks and the extravagant love of God will touch your life in many life-giving ways today. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Lord Jesus, we thank you for your great love. We are sorry for having troubled you by not embracing, by rejecting, by denying, by betraying your love. Help us to be people of hope, to be people of joy, to be people of faith. Help us to be people who fall in love with you again! You know the weakness of our human hearts. Grace us with hearts alive with your joy filled love. Gift us with faith filled spirits that will help us to make good choices as we journey through this life to the mystery of your everlasting love! Amen!
