Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday blessings and greetings to all. I hope your last day of September has started off well and that you will be able to enjoy a beautiful fall day wherever you are. I awoke to a chilly house this morning. I guess I will be thinking about putting on the heat in the not too distant future but not today!
I will be heading out in an hour or so to celebrate the 10:00 am mass today at St. John and St. Mary Parish in Chappaqua, NY. I hope you will be giving God a little of your time today? Whatever you are doing this today, relaxing, watching football, working, traveling, vacationing or just being, I pray that God’s blessing will be upon your Sunday filling it with the richness of joy, hope and the goodness of God’s presence. Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday blessings and greeting and happy feast of the archangels, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael! I hope you are have had a good week and that Saturday is off to a good start. It is a beautiful morning here in the New York area.
My prayer of blessing today is to ask St. Michael, St. Gabriel and St. Raphael, the three archangels whom we celebrate today to protect, guide and help us as we journey through this day and life. May they bring God’s grace, joy and love into our life and energize us with strength, goodness and love that we might share with whomever we meet today. May St. Michael make our travels and our day safe, may St. Gabriel bring us God’s Good News throughout the day and may St. Raphael bring God’s healing love to our hurts, struggles and negative encounters this day! Loving God, you have given us archangels to assist us during our pilgrimage on earth. Saint Michael is our protector; so, we ask him to come to our aid, to watch over all our loved ones, and to protect all of us from danger. Saint Gabriel is a messenger of the Good News; so, we ask him to help us to clearly hear your voice, to teach us your truth and to help us find the joy of your Word! Saint Raphael is the healing angel; so, we ask him to take to you all our prayers for healing, lifting all in need of healing into your presence so that through your mercy, love and grace they may be delivered back to us through your gift of healing. Help us, O God, to realize more fully the gift of Michael, Gabriel and Raphael and their desire to serve us. Archangels, protect, guide and help us through this journey of life. Amen. Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all! I hope your day has started off well. Mine has started off early and I not sure what this day will bring weather wise. I just we will all have a good Friday blessed by God’s presence.
For my prayer of blessing for all of you today is this – As you journey through this day may you be blessed with Christ within you, with Christ behind you, with Christ before you, with Christ beside you, with Christ to comfort and restore you, with Christ beneath you, with Christ above you, with Christ in your quiet moments, with Christ in your moments of struggle, with Christ in the hearts of all who love you, with Christ within of all your friends and every person you meet. May the presence of Christ’s be within you and bless your day, Amen! I hope you will have a great Friday and that you encounter many blessings today and much peace. May you be graced by God in whatever you do, and may you bring God’s grace to whomever you meet! Loving God, We have no idea where we are going. We do not see the road ahead of us. We cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do we really know ourselves, and the fact that we think we are following your will does not mean that we are actually doing so. But we believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And we hope we have that desire in all that we are doing. We hope that we will never do anything apart for that desire. And we know that if we do this you will lead us by the right road though we may know nothing about it. Therefore, we will trust you always though we may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. We will not fear, for you are ever with us, and you will never leave us to face my perils alone. Amen! It is a cloudy morning here in the New York area and we had a few storms roll though late last night. I am not sure what today will bring but I hope the weather is better by you today!
This is the last day of retreat at the Wartburg Home. I think it has gone well. I would once again ask you to offer a little prayer for everyone making the retreat and if you could offer a little prayer for their preacher it would be appreciated. My prayer of blessing today is adapted from the Irish tradition - May God bless all of us today so that the road rises up to meet us and makes your journeys swift and easy. May the wind be always at your back to aid us on our way. May the sun shine warm upon our face. And if the rain does have to fall may it be soft upon the land and upon us. And may we be truly blessed by God holding us in the palm of his hand throughout this day and always! Have a great day everyone! May it truly be blessed with many wonderful experiences, many gifted and loving people and the energy that a new day can bring! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Today’s Blessing Prayer: Wednesday greetings and blessings to everyone! I hope your Wednesday has started off well. Yesterday was a very rainy day here in the New York area and it seems we are in for more rain today. I hope your Wednesday weather is a little better!
We enter the third day of retreat today at the Wartburg Home and I once again ask you to keep those making the retreat in your prayers. I think the retreat is going well at least that is the feedback that I am getting. As always, if you could offer a little prayer for the preacher, it would be greatly appreciated. My prayer for all of you today is that God will bless this midpoint in the work week with a day filled with his presence, grace, energy, patience, joy and love.
