Today’s Prayer: Loving Jesus, you were rich and yet for our sake, you became poor. You promise in your Gospel that whatever is done for the least of your sisters and brothers is done for you. Give us grace to be always willing and ready to provide for the needs of those who are struggling physically, emotionally or spiritually so that your Kingdom of service, hope, joy and love may extend throughout the world, to your unending glory. Amen. (Adapted from a prayer by St. Augustine of Hippo)

Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday blessings and greetings to all! I hope your day is starting off well. Like much of the country it is hot here in Manitowoc. The heat settled in yesterday and like everywhere else it is here to stay for a while. It is a very hazy morning and even though I have not been out yet I am assuming that it is rather muggy. If you are in the midst of this heat wave I hope you are able to stay cool. If you are not in the midst of this heat wave, lucky you – enjoy!
It is the beginning of the sixth day of retreat here in Manitowoc with the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity and it is the last full day. Please continue to keep the six sisters and their director in your prayers. It is great appreciated! My prayer of blessing today for all of us is that God will grace us with the strength to somehow help the world take a step closer to peace by living our life with compassion, love and joy today! Please my friends don’t begin this day with hate in your hearts. Don’t see the world through the eyes of the 24-hour news stations. Don’t point your figures and blame. Don’t disrespect others not like you. Allow God’s blessing to touch your life and be a person of peace, of compassion, of hope, of joy and of love today. Be this person today for your family, for your friends, for your faith community, for those you work with, for those you meet, for the world, and for yourself. Have a great Friday everyone, put a smile on your face and trust that you are loved by God even in those moments of struggle. May God bless you today and always and thanks for being the person that you are because you certainly make this world a better place and life worth living! Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, thank you for the abilities that you have placed in our life. Help us to acknowledge these gifts and give us the courage to develop and use them in helping to make your presence known. Help us to be merciful and compassionate people who are always aware of something greater in life. We pray this so that we may never miss the gift of your presence in our life and that we may share it with the world around us. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday blessings and greetings to all. I hope your Thursday has started off well. The sun is trying to shed its morning light here in Manitowoc, however, it is a cloudy morning like yesterday and they say there is a possibility of storms today. I hope you are navigating through the summer weather by you.
It is day five of the retreat for the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity and all seems to be going well. Please continue to keep the sisters and their director in your prayers, it is greatly appreciated! I would like to send a special shout out this morning to my grandniece Natalie Ann who celebrates her fifth birthday today. Happy Birthday Little One! Many blessings today and always. I hope you have a great birthday! Love…Great Uncle Paul My prayer today is that we will be blessed with the richness of God’s presence, wherever we are, wherever we go and in whatever we do. May we find the gift of joy within ourselves and may it energize our living of life today. And may we always know the strength, the joy and the hope of God’s love as we live this day! My friends stay well and have a great day! Please know as always you are in my prayers and may you always know that you are truly a gift. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Take, Lord, and receive all our liberty, our memory, our understanding, and our entire will, all we have and call our own. You have given all to us. To you, Lord, we return it. Everything is yours; do with it what you will. Give us only your love and your grace that is enough for us. (Adapted from St. Ignatius of Loyola’s Prayer)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Wednesday blessings and greetings to all! I hope your Wednesday is starting off well. It seems to be a cloudy or hazy morning here in Manitowoc. I do not believe there is any rain forecast but I think it is going to be a rather humid day. I hope the weather by you is a little better!
We are into our fourth day of retreat here at St. Francis Convent/House of Prayer in Manitowoc, WI. Please continue to keep the sisters on retreat in your prayers and if you have a chance to say a prayer for their director it would be appreciated! My blessing prayer this morning is that each of us will encounter the richness of God’s blessings today! That we all will find today rich in the presence, joy, hope and love of God. That each encounter we have and journey we make will add another piece of the mystery of God to your life. And that we all may be alive with the joyful grace of God’s presence that will become the gift of us to the world today! Have a great Wednesday everyone! May this day be one of many blessings for you and those who are important in your life! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, create in us an ever-growing faith, with hearts open and centered in you. Awaken within us the fire of your Spirit, so that your love may fill us more fully, and flow throughout our lives.
Increase within us a desire to reach out, to invite and to share, to welcome and accept. Awaken the faith of all your people, especially those who have grown distant from you, those ready to hear an invitation to the love you alone can bring. Awaken us, loving God, to see the fullness of your grace and peace. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. (Awakening Faith is a ministry of Paulist Evangelization Ministries) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday blessings and greetings to everyone! It is a warm and humid morning here in Manitowoc, but it looks to be the beginning of a beautiful summer day though on the hot side! I hope the same is true by you minus the hot!
It is day three of the retreat that I am directing for the Franciscan Sisters of Charity. I would ask you to keep the six sisters on retreat in your prayers and if you could find the time to say an extra prayer for their director it would be appreciated! My prayer of blessing today is that our day will be rich in the grace and joy of the presence of God. That we will encounter the grace we need to navigate through this day successfully and peacefully. That we will be blessed with a joyful heart that we will share with everyone we meet and that we will encounter the presence of God throughout our day helping us to have the confidence that our presence in the world today is a gift to everyone we meet and to ourselves! Blessings upon all today and stay cool! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, strengthen us with the power to love through your Spirit in our inner most being. Fill our hearts with your presence and please do not leave us even when we seem to choose to go our own way. Help us to learn from our mistakes and missed opportunities so that we might grasp fully how wide and long and high and deep your love is for us. Above all, enable us to know this love that surpasses all knowledge so that we may share it with others. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday blessings and greetings to all. I hope your Monday is starting well. It is to be a beautiful day here in Manitowoc, WI. I hope the same is true by you. I hope your weekend was a fruitful one and that you had some time to enjoy life. I pray that this new work week will be one gifted with many blessings.
Last night I began a directed retreat with six sisters here at the house of prayer on the property of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity. I will begin meeting with each sister this morning as we journey together on this week-long directed retreat. I would ask you to keep these six sisters in your prayers as they make their own personal journey of retreat and if you would say an extra prayer for their spiritual guide it would be greatly appreciated! May all of us be blessed today with God’s peace and as Jesus tells us in the Gospel today it is a peace that we must look for at times in the midst of struggle. May we be blessed with God’s energizing grace so that we can find the gift of God’s peace and joy in our life today wherever we go, in whomever we meet and especially within ourselves. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul |
