Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday greetings and blessings to all. I hope your Monday is starting off well. If not, be patience you have a whole day and a whole week for it to get better!
My prayer of blessing for all of us today is that as we make your way through our day it will be a good journey. May we live by faith and trust in the gift that we are. Remember this day our life will be demanded of us. Not in a physical way, but in a spiritual way. May we be people today who are rich in what matters to God! Blessings today upon all we do, upon everyone we meet and most importantly upon all of us! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: O God, to you we offer our praise. Guide us on the right path as we travel upon your earth. Free us from all the evil tendencies that lead our hearts away from your way. Never allow us to stray from your love. O God, author of peace and justice, give us true joy, authentic love and a lasting solidarity among peoples. Give us your everlasting gifts. Amen (Adapted from a prayer by St. John Paul II)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday greetings and blessings to everyone and Happy Feast of St. Paul of the Cross! I know that it is Sunday, and Sunday takes precedent over feast days of saints but from my perspective it is just a great day to be a Passionist! I celebrated a Sunday mass yesterday evening so this morning I celebrated mass in honor of St. Paul of the Cross, founder of the Passionists. My prayers are for all of you today as I celebrate the feast of our founder, in thanksgiving for all of your support over the years. I ask that you continue to pray for us so that we can keep St. Paul’s vision, his dream alive!
I want to send a special blessing out to Alexis whose birthday is today. Alexis is one of my two goddaughters and I am very proud of the woman she has become though I had nothing to do with it. I just want to send a special birthday blessing to Alexis! She is probably in the midst of celebrating Sunday with her family today, but may she have a great day and may God continue to bless her and her family! My prayer of blessing for all us on this Sunday and feast day of St. Paul of the Cross is that God will bless all of us today through the intersession of St. Paul of the Cross. May God bless us and protect us today and always. May God’s face smile upon us. May God’s grace enter into all we do. May we live today rich in a harvest of faith, hope and love which God has planted within us and may we always know that nothing can separate you from the love of God and may the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ be always in our hearts! Blessings to all and have a great Sunday everyone. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
Loving God, We sometimes feel like we are crossing a barren desert, but we know you will not let us die of thirst. We sometimes wander far in safety though often we do not know the way. We speak your words, O God, sometimes in foreign lands and we pray people will understand. We hope to see the face of God and live. So, Lord, we will not be afraid because you always go before us, we will come and follow you because we know you will give us rest! Sometimes it feels as if we are passing through raging waters in life, that we are in the sea, but we trust you will not let us drown. We know that if we walk amidst the burning flames of life you will not let us be harmed. And if we stand before the power of hell and death is at our side, we know that you are always with us through it all. So, Lord, we will not be afraid because you always go before us, we will come and follow you because we know you will give us rest! Lord, blessed are the poor, for you told us the Kingdom will be theirs. Blessed are all of us who weep and mourn because one day we shall laugh. And if hurtful people insult and hate us because of you may we to be blessed. So, Lord, we will not be afraid because you always go before us, we will come and follow you because we know you will give us rest. My God bless us today and always through the intercession of St. Paul of the Cross. Amen! (Adapted from the song “Be Not Afraid” by Bob Dufford, S.J.) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to everyone! I hope your Saturday is starting off well.
Today in every part of the world except the United States the Congregation of the Passion (Passionists) celebrate the feast of our founder St. Paul of the Cross. Here in the United States we will celebrate his feast tomorrow. Why the difference, you might ask? Well, many years ago the Passionist provinces in the United States petitioned Rome for permission to move St. Paul of the Cross’ feast day from October 19th to the 20th because in the US on October 19th we also celebrate the feast of the Jesuit Martyrs St. John de Brebeuf, St. Isaac Jogues and Companions, often referred to as the North American Martyrs. Their feast in the United States and Canada always seemed to take precedence over St. Paul of the Cross. So, in moving St. Paul of the Cross’ feast to October 20th he stands alone. It is an odd situation, but we live with it. So, to all my Passionist sisters and brothers around the world happy Feast of St. Paul of the Cross and to all of my Passionist sisters and brother in the United States I look forward to celebrating tomorrow! My prayer of blessing for all of us today is that God will bless all our endeavors, our encounters, our times of solitude, our moments of busyness and our times of rest today. May this day be what we need it to be. May it be a gift from God that enables us to find the present of God in our life, especially within ourselves and may the spirit of St. Paul of the Cross enliven our love for God today and always through the Passion of Jesus Christ. Have a great Saturday and don’t forget to give a little time to God this weekend. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Give us grace, loving God, to address you with all our hearts as well as our lips. You are present everywhere; from you no secrets can be hidden. Teach us to fix our thoughts on you, reverently and with love, so that our prayers are not in vain but are acceptable to you, now and always. Amen. (Adapted from a prayer by Jane Austen) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday blessings and greetings to all! I hope your Friday is starting off well.
I would ask your continued prayer for the Synod on the Amazon going on in Rome these days. May the Holy Spirit be with all who are there participating that wisdom and grace will abound and the faith filled people of that part of the world will be helped in their journey of faith. My prayer of blessing for all of us today is that wherever we are, whomever we are with and whatever we are or will be doing today may we, our endeavors, our companions, and our living of life be blessed with the richness, grace and love of God’s presence! Have a great Friday everyone. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Almighty God, you inspired your servant Luke the Evangelist and Physician to set forth in the gospel the love and the healing power of your Son. In faithfully detailing the humanity of Jesus, he also showed the divinity of Jesus and his genuine compassion for all human beings.
May St. Luke intercede for us that we may deepen our understanding of the gospel and grow in compassion of Jesus. May his intercession enable us to follow your way and bring your healing and loving presents to all we meet this day and always. Amen. Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday greetings and blessings to all! I hope your Thursday is starting off well.
My prayer of blessing today is that all of us will have a great day filled with many blesses, boundless love and much of peace. May we be found rich in faith, hope and love which God has planted with in us. And may the wonderful spirit of St. Ignatius of Antioch, guide us through this day! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, let nothing upset us today, let nothing startle us today. All things pass – You do not change. Patience wins all it seeks. Whoever has You lacks nothing – You alone are enough. Amen! (Adapted from a poem by St. Teresa of Avila)
