Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday greetings and blessings to all! As always, I hope and pray you are navigating through these late days of February and early days of Lent with faith and hopefulness for the future.
Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) Just a note – Today is an important feast day for us Passionists, it is the Feast of St. Gabriel Possenti of Our Lady of Sorrows– a Passionist Saint, who is patron of youth. He died of tuberculosis at the age of 24 before he was ordained. Millions of pilgrims visit St. Gabriel's shrine in Isola del Gran Sasso d'Italia near Teramo each year. My prayer of blessing this morning is for all of you out there beginning a new work week, a new school week, a new Monday! May God’s blessings be with you in whatever you encounter, in whomever you encounter and wherever your day takes you. May God bless you with the grace of joy to live this day willing to meet God wherever you go and in whomever you meet including yourself! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul
