Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday greetings and blessings to everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend and that in the busyness of life you got a little rest and relaxation.
In a little while I will head out for my colonoscopy which is schedule for 8:30 am this morning. I have been up since 3:15 am when I had to drink the second of two bottles of the magic formula. I don’t think there is anything left in my colon, my stomach or anywhere else. Wish me a good test today and say a little prayer please!
My prayer of blessing today for all of us is that God will bless our day with peace. That the blessing of peace will be in our travels, our relationships, our activities, our encounters with others, our work and within each one of us!
Have a great Monday everyone and may God bless you with a day gifted in peace, joy, laughter and much love! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul
O Loving God, today we pray three things, to see you more clearly, to love you more dearly, and to follow you more nearly, day by day. Amen! (Adapted from the Godspell Song - Day By Day)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday greetings and blessings to all. I hope your Sunday is starting off well. In a little while I will be headed to Chappaqua, NY to celebrate the 10 am mass. Then I will return home for a quite day of liquids only as I prepare for my colonoscopy tomorrow morning.
My prayer of blessing today is that God’s blessings will be upon our Sunday filling it with the richness of joy, hope and the goodness of God’s presence. May today be filled with God’s Holy Spirit that will enable us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus as we run the race of life! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul
O Lord, when we receive you we accept our day just as it is.
We do not need to have any lofty feelings in our heart to recount to you.
We can lay our day before you just as it is,
for we receive it from you yourself,
the day and its inward light,
the day and all its meaning,
the day and the power to endure it,
the pure awareness of it,
which becomes the faint vision of your eternal life. (Adapted from a prayer by Fr. Karl Rahner, S.J.)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to all. It is a cloudy morning here in the New York area. I am not sure whether we will have rain today or if this is just the clouds of humidity and will burn off soon. I have not checked the weather as of yet. I hope wherever you are that it is a good start to the day and that you will be blessed with a great Saturday!
My prayer of blessing for all of us today is that our day and weekend will be restful and relaxing far from the busyness that life often heaps upon us. I pray that we have had a good day and weekend whether we are working, vacationing or traveling. I also pray that our day will be blessed with people that will gift your life with laughter, smiles and fun. Don’t forget to give a little time to God this weekend. Remember one hour is not a lot of time and God will appreciate hearing from you!
Blessings to all today and throughout the weekend, be safe if you are traveling and don’t forget to smile. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul
Today’s Prayer: Loving God, help us today and always, as Jesus said, to become a child once again. Help us to know that we are loved by you. Help us to let go of pride and pretense. Help us to trust so that we can let go of all our futile and unnecessary attempts to prove that we are worthy of your love. Let us know the humble prayer of being your much-loved child. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all! I hope your Friday is getting off to a good start.
My prayer of blessing today is that God will bless our Friday with the richness of his presence, mercy, joy and peace. That God’s blessings will help our workday to go quickly, our vacation day to go slower, our travel day to go safely, and that whatever our day entails we may be blessed with good people, many smiles, much laughter and God’s love. Have a great Friday everyone. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul
Today’s Prayer: O God, here is our heart, here it is with all its secrets. Look into our thoughts, O God our hope, and take away all our wrong thinking and feelings. Let our eyes be ever on you and release our feet from whatever holds them from walking towards you. We ask you to live with us, to lead us, to make our hearts your holy temple, a fit dwelling for you our loving and merciful God. Amen (Adapted from a prayer by St. Augustine of Hippo)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday greetings and blessings to all and happy feast of the Assumption of Mary! I hope your day is starting off well and that you will be able to give Mary and God a little time today!
My retreat with the Sisters of Christian Charity end yesterday afternoon with the celebrate of the Vigil Mass of the Solemnity of the Assumption. It was also a mass when the sisters in temporary vows renewed their vows for another year. It was a very beautiful and moving celebration. I would ask you to keep the Sisters of Christian Charity in your prayers and please say an extra prayer for the sisters in formation!
I know that my life has been touched by Mary’s presence often. So, in the spirit of the Feast of the Assumption I pray that God will bless us all with the humble and loving spirit of Mary’s presence in our life today and always. That we will be touched by the compassion, nurturing, loving and joyful spirit of Mary as we journey through this day and always. May Mary, the Mother of Jesus, always bring our struggles, our needs to her loving Son turning the ordinary water of life into the extraordinary wine of God’s love!
My prayer for all of us today is that we too will find the gift of peace and joy through the intercession of Mary as we journey through life today and always. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul
Mary, Virgin and Mother, you who, moved by the Holy Spirit, welcomed the word of life in the depths of your humble faith: as you gave yourself completely to the Eternal One, help us to say our own “yes” to the urgent call, as pressing as ever, to proclaim the good news of Jesus.
Filled with Christ’s presence, you brought joy to John the Baptist, making him exult in the womb of his mother. Brimming over with joy, you sang of the great things done by God. Standing at the foot of the cross with unyielding faith, you received the joyful comfort of the resurrection, and joined the disciples in awaiting the Spirit so that the evangelizing Church might be born.
Obtain for us now a new ardour born of the resurrection, that we may bring to all the Gospel of life which triumphs over death. Give us a holy courage to seek new paths,
that the gift of unfading beauty may reach every man and woman.
Virgin of listening and contemplation, Mother of love, Bride of the eternal wedding feast, pray for the Church, whose pure icon you are, that she may never be closed in on herself or lose her passion for establishing God’s kingdom.
Star of the new evangelization, help us to bear radiant witness to communion, service, ardent and generous faith, justice and love of the poor, that the joy of the Gospel may reach to the ends of the earth, illuminating even the fringes of our world.
Mother of the living Gospel, wellspring of happiness for God’s little ones, pray for us. Amen. Alleluia! (Prayer by Pope Francis)
Fr. Paul R. Fagan, C.P.
A prayer or two to help you through your day!
