Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday greetings and blessings to all! As always, I hope you are navigating through these early days of spring in a positive way.
As we journey through these still uncertain times, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) I ask God’s blessing on all of us that we journey through this Fifth Sunday of Lent that it may be a peaceful, restful and life-giving day. May God bless us with the richness of his loving presence throughout the day. May God bless all of us as we ready ourselves to begin a new work week. May the week ahead be one that runs smoothly and peacefully with many graced moments! Have a wonderful graced filled day everyone! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen! (Prayer Associated with St. Francis of Assisi)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to all. As always, I hope you are navigating through these difficult times in a positive way.

(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) My prayer of blessing today is that God will bless us all with the energy, the spirit and the enthusiasm to continue this journey of Lent and these difficult days. That God will bless us with a joy for life, for other people and for ourselves. And that we will have the faith to not be afraid and trust in the presence of God in our lives. Have a blessed, holy, and healthy Saturday and I hope that you will remember to give God a little of your time this weekend. Peace...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
O Lord, when we receive you we accept our day just as it is. We do not need to have any lofty feelings in our heart to recount to you. We can lay our day before you just as it is, for we receive it from you yourself, the day and its inward light, the day and all its meaning, the day and the power to endure it, the pure awareness of it, which becomes the faint vision of your eternal life. (Adapted from a prayer by Fr. Karl Rahner, S.J.) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Happy Solemnity of St. Joseph and Friday greetings to all. I was looking at my reflection for the feast of St. Joseph last year and I shared with you a sad happening – on this date last year my childhood parish, St. Joseph’s in Port Vue, PA was to have had a closing mass for the parish and the church. The parish had been a part of a combined parish called St. Mark’s for many years, but the physical building had remained open as a worship site. The worship site of St. Joseph’s Church was officially closed. I had been hoping to go to the closing mass last year, but all masses were canceled in the Pittsburgh Diocese as the virus broke out.
Since that time I have been hoping that as things opened up again that the closing mass might be rescheduled but no luck. It would have been a nice way to honor St. Joseph and the many years that the parish was a part of many people’s lives. I believe my own vocation was given life and nurtured for many years in that holy space. While the church was dedicated to St. Joseph the Worker there is still a flood on memories as I will remember the parish and its people at mass this morning as we honor St. Joseph under his title as Husband of Mary! I would like to say thanks to all the people who touched my life in that space and who looked upon and continue to look upon St. Joseph as a source of grace, life and inspiration! As always, I hope and pray you are continuing to navigate through these unusual and at times difficult days with faith and a hopefulness for the future. Once again as we journey through this uncertain time, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) My prayer of blessing today is that through the intercession of St. Joseph, all of us will remain focused on our faith, on our relationship with God, on all the journeys of life that God has invited us to enter into and all the healing God has provided. May we never give in to hopelessness and look elsewhere to a god the world creates. Many blessings to all today, may faith be central in our living today, may our hope be steadfast and may we encounter the presence of God’s love throughout the day! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, we honor your faithful servant, St. Joseph today. Help us with your grace to be your faith filled servants too. Enable us to be compassionate like Joseph to those around us. Give us the wisdom of Joseph so that we to will see your plan in every aspect of our lives. Gift us with a love like Joseph so that we to can make a difference with our lives. Touch us with the joy of Joseph so that we will always find the gift of God’s presence in everything we do. Good St. Joseph pray for us and watch over us. Help us to always find the value of family life no matter how difficult the world makes it. Amen!

May you journey through this day in safety and through the presence and grace of God continue to be healthy at day’s end! If you are in need of God’s healing may you be so touched by God today. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Compassionate God, at times our hearts get out of focus. When this happens everything becomes an effort, life is difficult, and we struggle to be faithful. In these moments remind us of Your Son’s words “For human beings it is impossible, but not for God. All things are possible for God” Do not let us be afraid and thus give in to life’s troubles and create our own molten calf. Rather help us, stay close to you, by reaching out to others, doing something creative with passion, and always living the fullness of life. Enliven us always in Your Holy Spirit of hope, so that we may live life with Passion together. And may the Passion of Jesus Christ be always in our hearts! Amen.

(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) In honor of St. Patrick’s Day an old Irish blessing, may God give you, for every storm, a rainbow, for every tear, a smile. For every care, a promise; a blessing for every trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh, a sweet song, and an answer for every prayer. Have a great Wednesday and St. Patrick’s Day everyone and my prayer of blessing today goes out to everyone that you may encounter the love of God in some special way today; through the gesture of another person, through an experience of life, through an encounter with God within yourself. May God’s love enliven a well-spring of joy within you that you can share with all you meet today. And may you find the joy and mercy of God within you and share it with the world! May today be a day of many blessings and a day without too much stress! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: As I arise today, may the strength of God pilot me, the power of God uphold me, the wisdom of God guide me. May the eye of God look before me, the ear of God hear me, the word of God speak for me. May the hand of God protect me, the way of God lie before me, the shield of God defend me, the host of God save me. May Christ shield me today. Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit, Christ when I stand, Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me. Amen! (Adapted from a prayer by St. Patrick)
