Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday greetings and blessings to everyone! I hope you had a nice weekend and that in the busyness of life you got a little rest and relaxation. Well we finally have a new focus on news other than Trump, violence and war even though it is only for a short period of time – the solar eclipse. For at least a few hours most of the news will be focused on it. That is if someone doesn’t do something stupid! If you are going to watch it please do it safely.
With all the violence and anger that is present in the world these days my prayer of blessing today for all of you is that God will bless your day with peace. That the blessing of peace will be in your travels, your relationships, your activities, your encounters with others, your work and within you! May the force, the sun the presence of God be with you. Have a great Monday everyone and may God bless you with a day gifted in peace, joy, laughter and much love! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer:
O Loving God, today we pray three things, to see you more clearly, to love you more dearly, and to follow you more nearly, day by day. Amen! (Adapted from the Godspell Song - Day By Day) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to all. I hope your Saturday has or is starting off well!
My prayer of blessing for all of you today is that your weekend will be a restful and relaxing far from the busyness that life often heaps upon us. I pray you have had a good weekend whether you were working, vacationing or traveling. I also pray that your day will be blessed with people that will gift your life with laughter, smiles and fun. Don’t forget to give a little time to God this weekend. Remember one hour is not a lot of time and God will appreciate hearing from you! Blessings to all today and throughout the weekend, be safe if you are traveling and don’t forget to smile. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, help us today and always, as Jesus said, to become a child once again. Help us to know that we are loved by you. Help us to let go of pride and pretense. Help us to trust so that we can let go of all our futile and unnecessary attempts to prove that we are worthy of your love. Let us know the humble prayer of being your much loved child. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all! In a couple of hours, I will be celebrating the closing mass of the retreat here at St. Joseph Retreat Center on Staten Island. I hope your Friday has started out well.
It seems like we just cannot get away from the negativity of life. The tragic events in Barcelona, Spain are all over the news. I pray for those who died or were injured. I pray for all who grieve today because of the loved ones and friends they lost. I pray for the people of Barcelona and all of Spain as they try to pick up the pieces. I pray for those who committed this terrible act that they will not only come to justice but somehow have a change of heart. I pray for protection for all of us from the evil that walks the earth these days. I pray in sadness for the innocense that we have lost. I pray in hope for God’s light to direct and guide us. In the spirit of hope my prayer of blessing today is that God will bless your Friday with the richness of his presence, mercy, joy and peace. That God’s blessings will help your work day to go quickly, your vacation day to go slower, your travel day to go safely, and that whatever your day entails you may be blessed with good people, many smiles, much laughter and God’s love. Have a great Friday everyone. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God, here is our heart, here it is with all its secrets. Consider our thoughts, O God our hope, and take away all our wrong thinking and feelings. Let our eyes be ever on you, and release our feet from whatever holds them from walking towards you. We ask you to live with us, to lead us, to make our hearts your holy temple, a fit dwelling for you our loving and merciful God. Amen (Adapted from a prayer by St. Augustine of Hippo)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday greetings and blessings to all! I hope your day is starting off well. It is looks to be a beautiful sunny morning here on Staten Island. This is the last full day of retreat. We will finish tomorrow.
My prayer of blessing is that I pray and hope your day will be blessed with the richness of God's blessings. May you have a day blessed with a strong faith, a life-giving hope, rich love and energizing joy. Stay cool everyone! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, you have called us to be one, to live in unity and harmony, and yet we are divided. O lord, break down the walls that separate us, tear down the fences of indifference and hatred, forgive us the sins that divide us, free us from pride and self-seeking, overcome our prejudices and fears, give us courage to open ourselves to others; by power of you Spirit, make us one. Amen (Adapted from a prayer by the World Council of Churches 1983)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Wednesday blessings and greetings to all! I hope your Wednesday is starting off well. My prayer of blessing today is that I hope you will enjoy your day wherever you are and in whatever you are doing. And if things aren’t going so well today remember this, “every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person and a beautiful thing” (St. Teresa of Calcutta). So just smile and share the gift you are. May God bless you with a day filled with much joy, grace and God’s unconditional love. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul
Today’s Prayer:
Living God, for this reason we come before you, from whom every family in heaven and on earth receives its name. We pray that out of your glorious riches you will strengthen us with power through your Spirit in our inner most being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. And we pray that we, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge. Now to you, our God, who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to your power that is at work within us, to you, our God, be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Adapted from the words of St. Paul Letter to the Ephesians) |
