Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all! I hope your Friday is getting off to a good start.
My prayer of blessing today is that God will bless our Friday with the richness of his presence, mercy, joy and peace. That God’s blessings will help our workday to go quickly, our vacation day to go slower, our travel day to go safely, and that whatever our day entails we may be blessed with good people, many smiles, much laughter and God’s love. Have a great Friday everyone. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: O God, here is our heart, here it is with all its secrets. Look into our thoughts, O God our hope, and take away all our wrong thinking and feelings. Let our eyes be ever on you and release our feet from whatever holds them from walking towards you. We ask you to live with us, to lead us, to make our hearts your holy temple, a fit dwelling for you our loving and merciful God. Amen (Adapted from a prayer by St. Augustine of Hippo)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday greetings and blessings to all and happy feast of the Assumption of Mary! I hope your day is starting off well and that you will be able to give Mary and God a little time today!
My retreat with the Sisters of Christian Charity end yesterday afternoon with the celebrate of the Vigil Mass of the Solemnity of the Assumption. It was also a mass when the sisters in temporary vows renewed their vows for another year. It was a very beautiful and moving celebration. I would ask you to keep the Sisters of Christian Charity in your prayers and please say an extra prayer for the sisters in formation! I know that my life has been touched by Mary’s presence often. So, in the spirit of the Feast of the Assumption I pray that God will bless us all with the humble and loving spirit of Mary’s presence in our life today and always. That we will be touched by the compassion, nurturing, loving and joyful spirit of Mary as we journey through this day and always. May Mary, the Mother of Jesus, always bring our struggles, our needs to her loving Son turning the ordinary water of life into the extraordinary wine of God’s love! My prayer for all of us today is that we too will find the gift of peace and joy through the intercession of Mary as we journey through life today and always. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
Mary, Virgin and Mother, you who, moved by the Holy Spirit, welcomed the word of life in the depths of your humble faith: as you gave yourself completely to the Eternal One, help us to say our own “yes” to the urgent call, as pressing as ever, to proclaim the good news of Jesus. Filled with Christ’s presence, you brought joy to John the Baptist, making him exult in the womb of his mother. Brimming over with joy, you sang of the great things done by God. Standing at the foot of the cross with unyielding faith, you received the joyful comfort of the resurrection, and joined the disciples in awaiting the Spirit so that the evangelizing Church might be born. Obtain for us now a new ardour born of the resurrection, that we may bring to all the Gospel of life which triumphs over death. Give us a holy courage to seek new paths, that the gift of unfading beauty may reach every man and woman. Virgin of listening and contemplation, Mother of love, Bride of the eternal wedding feast, pray for the Church, whose pure icon you are, that she may never be closed in on herself or lose her passion for establishing God’s kingdom. Star of the new evangelization, help us to bear radiant witness to communion, service, ardent and generous faith, justice and love of the poor, that the joy of the Gospel may reach to the ends of the earth, illuminating even the fringes of our world. Mother of the living Gospel, wellspring of happiness for God’s little ones, pray for us. Amen. Alleluia! (Prayer by Pope Francis) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Wednesday blessings and greetings to all! I hope your Wednesday is starting off well.
We begin the 7th and final day of retreat. The retreat will end this afternoon with mass and the sisters in temporary vows will renew their vows for another year. Please continue to pray for the sisters on retreat and for their preacher. My prayer of blessing today is that I hope we all will enjoy our day wherever we are and in whatever we are doing. And if things aren’t going so well today remember this, “every time we smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person and a beautiful thing” (St. Teresa of Calcutta). So let us just smile and share the gift we are. May God bless us with a day filled with much joy, grace and God’s unconditional love. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
Living God, for this reason we come before you, from whom every family in heaven and on earth receives its name. We pray that out of your glorious riches you will strengthen us with power through your Spirit in our inner most being, so that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. And we pray that we, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge. Now to you, our God, who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to your power that is at work within us, to you, our God, be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Adapted from the words of St. Paul Letter to the Ephesians) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday greetings and blessings to everyone! I hope your day is getting off to a good start!
It is our 6th day of retreat here in Mendham. I ask your continued prayer for the sisters on retreat and for their preacher. My prayer of blessing today is that we will all have a great day wherever we find ourselves and through whatever kind of day we will face. If we are in the midst of a rainy day – may we stay dry, if the sun is out may we soak it in. In other words, let us be grateful for whatever kind of day we face – let us keep smiling and remember that we are a gift and if we share our gift, we will make it possible for others to have a wonderful day too! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
O God be merciful to us, because of your constant love. Because of your great mercy forgive us of our sins! We recognize our faults; we need to always conscious of our sins so that none of your little ones are ever lost again. O God create a new and pure heart in us and put a new and loyal spirit in us. Do not expel us from your presence; do not take your Holy Spirit away from us. Give us the joy that comes from your love and help us to always make the right choices in life. Loving God be kind to us and help us to rebuild your Church. Amen! (Adapted from Psalm 51) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday greetings and blessings to everyone I hope you had an enjoyable weekend and that you got a little rest and relaxation, and that your Monday is starting off well.
We enter day five of the retreat here in Mendham. I would ask you to continue to keep the sisters on retreat in your prayers and if you could say a little extra prayer for their preacher it would be appreciated. Again, I hope your day has started off well. For some of you it is a Monday after a week or so of vacation, for others it is the beginning of a new work week and for others it might be just new day of vacation. Whatever this Monday is for you may it be blessed with the richness of God's presence in your life. May God touch you with his grace of faith, hope, love and joy today. May your day be blessed with the gift of faith filled people, wonderful experiences, safe travel and may your day be a productive day! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Lord, you know what is best; let all be done as you please. Place me where you will and deal with me freely in all things. I am in your hands: turn me about whichever way you will. Behold, I am your servant, ready to obey in all things. Not for myself do I desire to live, but for you. Amen! (Thomas À Kempis)
