Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday greeting and blessing to all. I hope you are continuing to navigate through these mid-August days with faith and a hopefulness for the future!
Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) My prayer of blessing for us today is a simple litany asking God to help us along the way – Loving God, we pray for your blessing today in the midst of these summer days and our unusual life at this time. If we find ourselves struggling with the heat and humidity of summer remind us of the cold days of winter. If we are under the weather touch us with your healing presence. If we are busy guide us to a moment of peace. If we are frustrated grace us with an acknowledgement of the gift of your presence. If we find ourselves angry today help us to let it go. If we find ourselves alone embrace us so that we know that are not. O God bless us with what we need to live our lives of faith this day! May we live with a sense of gratitude today so that we will be blessed with a good day and graced with God’s love in all our endeavors. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer:
Loving God, we come before you in grateful prayer today. We are grateful for this moment of life. We are grateful for each breath we take. We are grateful for our life. And so, we thank you for our challenges for they help us to grow. We thank you for our many gifts for they help us to smile. We thank you for our many circles of support for they hold our hand. We thank you for our body for it is our vehicle of living. We thank you for our heart for it reminds us to love. We thank you for our mind for its abundance. We thank you for our friendship with you for it inspires us. Loving God, we thank you and we are grateful for life and the opportunity to live it with you! Amen. Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday greetings and blessings to all and happy feast of the Assumption of Mary! I hope you are continuing to navigate through these August days with faith and a hopefulness for the future.

(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) I know that my life has been touched by Mary’s presence often. So, in the spirit of the Feast of the Assumption I pray that God will bless us all with the humble and loving spirit of Mary’s presence in our life today and always. That we will be touched by the compassion, nurturing, loving and joyful spirit of Mary as we journey through this day and always. May Mary, the Mother of Jesus, always bring our struggles, our needs to her loving Son turning the ordinary water of life into the extraordinary wine of God’s love! My prayer for all of us today is that we too will find the gift of peace and joy through the intercession of Mary as we journey through life today and always. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
Mary, Virgin and Mother, you who, moved by the Holy Spirit, welcomed the word of life in the depths of your humble faith: as you gave yourself completely to the Eternal One, help us to say our own “yes” to the urgent call, as pressing as ever, to proclaim the good news of Jesus. Filled with Christ’s presence, you brought joy to John the Baptist, making him exult in the womb of his mother. Brimming over with joy, you sang of the great things done by God. Standing at the foot of the cross with unyielding faith, you received the joyful comfort of the resurrection, and joined the disciples in awaiting the Spirit so that the evangelizing Church might be born. Obtain for us now a new ardour born of the resurrection, that we may bring to all the Gospel of life which triumphs over death. Give us a holy courage to seek new paths, that the gift of unfading beauty may reach every man and woman. Virgin of listening and contemplation, Mother of love, Bride of the eternal wedding feast, pray for the Church, whose pure icon you are, that she may never be closed in on herself or lose her passion for establishing God’s kingdom. Star of the new evangelization, help us to bear radiant witness to communion, service, ardent and generous faith, justice and love of the poor, that the joy of the Gospel may reach to the ends of the earth, illuminating even the fringes of our world. Mother of the living Gospel, wellspring of happiness for God’s little ones, pray for us. Amen. Alleluia! (Prayer by Pope Francis) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday greetings and blessings to all! I hope you are continuing to navigate through these August days with faith and a hopefulness for the future.

May today be filled with the fire of God’s Holy Spirit that will enable us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus as we run the race of life! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
O Lord, when we receive you we accept our day just as it is. We do not need to have any lofty feelings in our heart to recount to you. We can lay our day before you just as it is, for we receive it from you yourself, the day and its inward light, the day and all its meaning, the day and the power to endure it, the pure awareness of it, which becomes the faint vision of your eternal life. Amen. (Adapted from a prayer by Fr. Karl Rahner, S.J.) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to all. I hope you are continuing to navigate through these hot August days with faith and a hopefulness for the future.

I pray that we have had a good day and weekend whether we are working, vacationing or traveling. I also pray that our day will be blessed with people that will gift your life with laughter, smiles and fun. Don’t forget to give a little time to God this weekend. Remember one hour is not a lot of time and God will appreciate hearing from you! Blessings to all today and throughout the weekend, be safe if you are traveling and don’t forget to smile. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, help us today and always, as Jesus said, to become a child once again. Help us to know that we are loved by you. Help us to let go of pride and pretense. Help us to trust so that we can let go of all our futile and unnecessary attempts to prove that we are worthy of your love. Let us know the humble prayer of being your much-loved child. Amen!

(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) Today is the Memorial of Saint Alphonsus Liguori, Bishop and Doctor of the Church, founder of the Redemptorists and contemporary of St. Paul of the Cross, founder of the Passionists. Blessings to the Redemptorists and all who call upon the spirit and wisdom of St. Alphonsus. Also, this afternoon I will be leaving with 32 pilgrims for a 10-day journey to Germany, Austria and Switzerland, during which we will attend the famous Oberammergau Passion Play. Please keep all who are traveling with me in your prayers that our journey is safe and blessed. Later this morning I will be posting Today’s Thoughts, Today’s Prayer, Today’s Blessing and A Runner’s Thoughts for all the days I will be on pilgrimage. My prayer of blessing is that God will bless all of us with an interesting, grace filled, safe, and healthy Monday and a beautiful week. May our day and our week be a fruitful one filled with many blessings upon us and those people you enter our life. Let us not forget to share the gift of who we are today because believe me it will make a difference! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
Lord, make us instruments of your peace. Where there is hatred, let us sow love, Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved, as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. (Adapted from a prayer attributed to St. Francis of Assisi) |
