Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday greetings and blessings to all! I hope you are continuing to navigate through these mid-September days with faith and a hopefulness for the future.
Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) I would ask your continued prayers for all on retreat this week at the Wartburg Home and if you could say a simple prayer for their preacher, it would be greatly appreciated. I would also ask you to keep one of my Passionist brothers in your prayers as he undergoes surgery today. It is hoped that this operation will correct a condition that he has been dealing with this past year. He is part of the community here in Pelham so please offer a special prayer for the success of his surgery today. Thanks! My prayer of blessing today is that you will have a blessed, holy, and productive Thursday and encounter many blessings and much peace today. My prayer for all of us is that we may be graced by God in whatever we do, and may we bring God’s grace to whomever we encounter! Work, pray, travel, study, laugh, cry, talk, be silent, be intense or relaxed today rich in the blessing and presence of God through the intercession of Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer:
Mary, woman of listening, open our ears; grant us to know how to listen to the word of your Son Jesus among the thousands of words of this world; grant that we may listen to the reality in which we live, to every person we encounter, especially those who are poor, in need, in hardship. Mary, woman of decision, illuminate our mind and our heart so that we may obey, unhesitating, the word of your Son Jesus; give us the courage to decide, not to let ourselves be dragged along, letting others direct our life. Mary, woman of action, [may] our hands and feet move “with haste” toward others, to bring them the charity and love of your Son Jesus, to bring the light of the gospel to the world, as you did. Amen. (Adapted from a prayer by Pope Francis) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Wednesday and Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross greetings and blessings to all! As I begin this new day my prayer for all of us is that we will have a good journey through this day. May we live by faith today and trust in the gift that we are. May God recognize our faith and bless us with the unconditional love that we are reminded of each time we look upon his Cross. If we are struggling today may we find the grace of hope, peace, and love to see us through this day. Blessings today upon all we do, upon everyone we meet and most importantly upon each of us! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
The Cross of My Lord, Be my Standard, Be my Comfort, Be the Answer to all dark questions, The Light of all nights, The Sign that You have chosen us, The mysterious and sure Sign that we are Yours for eternity. Amen. (Prayer by Fr. Karl Rahner, S.J.) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday greetings and blessings to all. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) I would ask your prayers today for the people the Wartburg. I began a retreat there yesterday for the people in assisted and independent living. The retreat will last until Friday afternoon. I will also be celebrating mass for the people in the nursing home this morning. Please offer a prayer today for all the people on the Wartburg campus, especially those on retreat and those whom I will celebrate with today. And if you could offer a little prayer for the preacher, it would be greatly appreciated! As we begin this new day hopefully it will be a day rich in the blessings of God. I pray all of us will have a good day one rich in the grace of God. May you encounter many smiles, many good people and much love. Have a great day everyone and know of my prayers for you today and always. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
Loving God, Thank you for your presence during the hard and mean days. For then we have you to lean upon. Thank you for your presence during the bright and sunny days. For then we can share that which we have with those who have less. Thank you for your presence during the Holy Days and Holidays. For then we are able to celebrate you and our families and our friends. For those who have no voice, we ask you to speak. For those who feel unworthy, we ask you to pour your love out in waterfalls of tenderness. For those who live in pain, we ask you to bathe them in the river of your healing. For those who are lonely, we ask you to keep them company. For those who are depressed, we ask you to shower upon them the light of hope. Loving God, You, the borderless sea of substance, we ask you to give to all the world that which we need most—Peace. Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, All I have and call my own. You have given all to me. To you, Lord, I return it. Everything is yours; do with it what you will. Give me only your love and your grace, that is enough for me. (The Suscipe by St. Ignatius Loyola) Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday greetings and blessing to all! May we pause this morning to remember what happened that Tuesday twenty-one years ago and how it changed our lives. Perhaps you will think about where you were and what you felt as the tragic events of that day unfolded. Yet here we are twenty-one years later still searching for peace!
My thoughts and prayers today go out to all affected by the events of that day especially to the children who lost mothers and fathers. Nothing can fill the void of their loss. May what remains unfilled always keep them connected to the gift of the person, the treasure they lost! My thoughts are also will all the people who still struggle with the events of that day either physically because of illnesses they have now, emotionally, or even spiritually. My prayers are with all of you this day and always. Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. May God recognize our faith and bless us with the trust and willingness to let go and let God. If we are struggling with our faith may we find the strength to trust in the presence of God in our life. Blessings today upon all that we do, upon everyone we meet and most importantly upon all of us and let us not forget to give God a little time today. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer:
God of all peace and conciliation, For those who went into danger, we give thanks. For those who remained behind with the infirm and injured, we give thanks. For those who thought of others first, we give thanks. For those who offered comfort to others, we give thanks. For moments of unknown, grant us courage. In times of fear, grant us courage. When called upon to stand for the rights of others, grant us courage. When others call for our destruction, grant us courage. When the enemies of freedom lash out, bless us with your peace When the darkness of hatred descends, bless us with your peace When we feel the urge to trample and destroy, bless us with your peace When we look to the future of your universe, bless us with your peace Through the living of life, let us be your peace. Amen! (Adapted from a prayer by Rabbi Matt Friedman) |
