Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday greetings and blessings to all from a snowy New York. I hope you are continuing to navigate through mid-December days with faith and a hopefulness for the future.
Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) My prayer of blessing for all of us today is – Faithful God, giver of all good gifts, bless us today with hearts that love you, so that by deepening our sense of respect and reverence for you we may nurture within ourselves and others only what is good. Bless us with your watchful care throughout this day so that wherever we go and whatever we do it will be for you. Bring us home safe to those we love that we might celebrate the gift of family, of friendship, of community, of your love so that our sleep will be restful, and we will be energized to welcome you once again tomorrow! Make us always ready to say, “Yes” when you call us into your service. Have a great day everyone and peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) Besides being the Third Sunday of Advent today is also the feast today of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It remembers the appearance of Mary to Juan Diego, a poor Aztec Indian convert, as a beautiful young mestiza woman on Tepeyac Hill near Mexico City on December 9, 1531. It is a special day of celebration for all our sisters and brothers of Central, South America and here in North America too. Blessing on all who are celebrate this feast of Mary today! On this Third Sunday of Advent I use St. Paul’s words from his Letter to the Philippians that we find in the second reading at mass today. May God bless us today with the gifts of rejoicing. Let me say that again – may God bless us with the gift of rejoicing! So that our kindness will be known to all and that we will know that God is always near. May God bless us with peace so that we will not be anxious and trust that our prayers, petitions and thanksgivings will be known to God. Then the God of peace who surpasses all understanding will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Have a great Sunday and remember to give God a little of your time today! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, help us take on the Advent work of restoring our lives to the meaning and joy for which we were created. Lead by the spirit of the Eternal Shepherd grace us with the strength of renewing our lives by focusing on compassion, forgiveness and justice the foundation on which your Kingdom is built. Amen!
