Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to all. It looks like it is going to be a sunny, but I am sure a cold day here in the New York area. I hope your Saturday is starting off well and that the weather by you will be energizing and life-giving to your journey through this day!
My prayer of blessing is once again a simple prayer – I pray today for God’s blessing upon all of us and I pray in the hope everyone will have a great Saturday. However, if our day has started slow, or disorganized, or in a panic, or challenged by the weather, may we not worry, and may it all come together by day's end! If our day started with peace and purpose may these two graces, see us through to the end of the day! If our day started with struggle and tension may we find moments of peace and calm that sustain us through the day. If our day has started without God, may we let God find us so that we will not walk and work alone! Blessings to all! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: O God, we are out of our mind in love with you today. Help us to stir into a flame the fire of this love so that we may never be ashamed of our friendship with you. Entrust us with the power and hope of peace and your love in this life and the gift of eternal life with you. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all and happy Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul the Apostle! To all who might bear the name Paul, like myself or who might find St. Paul and this feast dedicated to his conversion a source of inspiration and strength, like myself, many blessings and much peace.
I always celebrate the gift of St. Paul whenever I can. Today is one of my favorite feasts throughout the year. I will remember St. Paul as I celebrate mass today and I will draw upon the gift of the presence of St. Paul in my life and celebrate that gift as I go through this day. Last night one of my Passionist brothers and I journeyed into Manhattan to see the play “A Man for All Seasons,” the story of St. Thomas More. It is a very powerful play and a nice way to begin my celebration of the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul. I think these two men while very different would have been good friends had they lived at the same time of history! I hope your Friday is starting off well. It is to be a mostly sunny but cold day here in the New York area. I hope wherever you are you are navigating through this winter time in a positive way. My blessing prayer is very simple this Friday morning - May the spirit of St. Paul the Apostle be with all of us throughout this day. May his energy enliven our work, our ministry, our living of life today and always. Many blessings and remember with St. Paul's help we too can get up when we are knocked down and life will be better because we do! Have a great Friday everyone and may the spirit of St. Paul be with you. Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Glorious Saint Paul, most zealous Apostle, Martyr for the love of Christ, give us a deep faith, a steadfast hope, and a burning love for our Lord. So that we can proclaim with you, “It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me.” Help us to put on Christ, as God’s chosen ones, clothed with compassion, kindness, humility and patience. Make us “ambassadors for Christ,” always proclaiming our salvation with faith, hope and love. Help us to seek the unity of all members of Christ’s body. Amen.
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday greetings and blessings to all. First, let me say thank you for all your prayers the last few days. My journey to and from Pittsburgh went well and I was glad to have been a part of my godfather’s celebration into eternal life. The traveling on Tuesday and Wednesday was long but I made it both ways safely and I thank you for your help.
I hope your Thursday has started off well. All the rain, sleet and ice that I drove through yesterday has arrived he in New York this morning, many all the rain so I will get to encounter it again. At least I will not be moving along at 70 miles an hour. I would like to send a special shout out to my grandniece Kristina, on her birthday! She probably will not see this, but I want to wish her a Happy Birthday with many blessings today and always. I hope she has a great day. I hope she get to celebrate at least a little and that she will enjoy the flowers that I sent! My prayer of blessing today will be a simple one. I pray for God’s blessings upon all of us today that our day will be successful, life giving, safe and be gifted with peace and love; may those amongst us who are struggling, suffering or hurting find the peace and solace of Christ who bore the struggles, suffering and hurt of all of us in his Cross; may those amongst us who face the sadness of tragedy find comfort in the loving presence of God. May all of us come to realize the fragileness and value of life from the first moment of conception to its last breath through the grace of living this day and return home tonight to those we most love. Many blessings to all this day! Have a blessed and grace filled day everyone! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, help us in the midst of our busy day to see what is truly holy, life giving, and of you. May we always find the time to be grateful for your gifts and your presence in our life. May this day in our life truly reflect your love. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Wednesday greetings and blessings to all. I hope your Wednesday has started off well. I find myself this morning in the city of my birth, Pittsburgh. In a few hours I will be part of the celebration of the funeral for my godfather. It is to be a rainy cold day here in Pittsburgh, but I am hoping that the celebration of a good man life will warm things up. After the funeral I will hit the road for home so as you spend a moment in prayer today please keep the Dougherty family and friends in your prayers and a little prayer for a safe journey for all traveling would be greatly appreciated also!
May prayer of blessing today will be a simple one. I pray today for God’s blessings upon all of us that we will come to know and honor the gift of life from the first moment to conception to the last breath and for all and every moment in between. May we all truly see life as a gift from God. Loving God bless all of us today, with the reverence and respect for our own life and all life around us. Have a great Wednesday everyone! Be safe, stay warm if you are in the midst of the cold weather and smile. May God bless all our endeavors today, all our meetings, all our travels and all our moments with others. Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God, as we live this new day, please send the gift of your hope into our hearts so that we can turn our moments of anger into healing, life and your loving presence. May we always be people who celebrate life in the midst of a world that often seem focused on taking life. May we never let anything stand in the way of an opportunity to heal and celebrate life. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday greetings and blessings to all! I hope your Tuesday is starting off well? In a few hours I will hit the road for a journey to Pittsburgh. The funeral of my godfather is tomorrow so I am driving to Pittsburgh today and will attend the funeral tomorrow and then return to New York. A long way to go for such a short time but certainly an important journey. I ask you to keep me in your prayers for safe travel and please keep the Dougherty family and friends in your prayers as they mourn the loss of a father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
My prayer of blessing for us today is a simple litany asking God to help us along the way – Loving God, I pray for your blessing today on all your faith filled people amid this busy life. If you find us under the weather touch us with your healing presence. If you find us busy guide us to a moment of peace. If you find us frustrated grace us with an acknowledgement of the gift that you are. If you find us angry help us to let it go. If you find us alone embrace us so that we know that we are not alone. O God bless us with what we need to live our life this day! Have a great Tuesday everyone! If you were off yesterday, I hope you had a relaxing day or a day that helped you to catch up in the midst of a busy life. Be well today and may you encounter many blessings as you live this day! Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God of eternal hope, help us always to remember your faithful promise to be with us always. Guide us through this ever-changing life with your gifts of courage, strength and grace so that we might help to build a world of justice and peace for all. Amen!
