Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday greetings and blessings and happy Martin Luther King Day and happy feast of St. Agnes everyone from very cold Pelham! We have found the deep freeze of winter. Luckily, it will only be for a couple of days and then the temperature will moderate some once again. If you live in the Northeast or the Midwest please be careful traveling this morning because I am sure there is ice on the roadways.
I begin a very busy week today as I will be traveling to Pittsburgh on Tuesday for a funeral on Wednesday. I have had to re-arrange my schedule this week so most days I will be on the move. I ask your prayers that I make it safely to all the things on my schedule this week and that those I have had to cancel will understand! I hope this find you well and into your Monday morning without too much difficulty. I would guess for some of you today is a free day meaning you didn’t have to travel into work, for others it is the beginning of a new work week. I hope you all have a great day and a great week! Today I pray that God blesses us all with the grace to be new wines skins that hold the new song of God for the world. May we share that new song with everyone we meet today in our own gifted way. May we smile, may we laugh, may we share our wisdom, may we dream, may we believe, may we hope, and may we always love! In the spirit of Dr. King and St. Agnes may we move toward a world in which all people are valued, all people are free and where peace is the rule of the day! Blessing upon everyone today! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: Loving God, you call us today to sing a new song, to be new skins for the grace of your new wine, to be your people of a new dream of freedom, of justice, of equality for all. Help us today to look beyond the fears, the obstacles, the hate, the angry rhetoric and the sinfulness that often prevents us from singing, holding and dreaming the newness of your mercy, life and love. Give us the hopefulness of new dreams, the faith of a new song and the love which we can carry in a new life to others. Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday late morning greetings and blessings to all! I hope your Sunday has started off well. I know some, especially those of us in the Midwest and Northeast are dealing with strange weather these days. Amid this crazy weather, I hope you are finding some time to rest and just enjoy. Here in Pelham we have had nothing but rain since last night, but I know north and west of us had some snow. We are now bracing for the very cold to make its presence felt!
As I look ahead it will be a busy week for me as on Friday I learned of the death of my God-Father and I am hoping to travel to Pittsburgh for his funeral. I am still trying to re-arrange my schedule for the week in order to do so. Please keep the Edward Dougherty family and friends in your prayers as they mourn the passing of their father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. On this Second Sunday in Ordinary Time my prayer of blessing is that God will renew within us the graces and blessings we received through the hearing of his Word. That through the many gifts of the Holy Spirit, we will be able to enliven our faith, energize our hope and that we will always be reminded of God’s everlasting love. I pray that Jesus will once again bless us with his presence in our homes and in our lives. May God’s mercy, grace and blessing be upon us all today. Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O Lord, grant us that love which can never dies, which will enkindle our lamps but not extinguish them, so that they may shine in us and bring light to others. May we receive unquenchable light from you so that our darkness will be illuminated, and the darkness of the world will be made less. Amen (Prayer by St. Columba)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to all. I hope your Saturday is starting off well amid this crazy weather. In a few minutes I will head out for Baltimore for what I hope will be a nice lunch with a friend I haven’t seen for a number of years. Yes, it is a long way to go for lunch, but I figure it is worth it. So, I ask your prayers for a safe journey.
My prayer of blessing today is that you will get a little time away from the busyness of life to rest, relax and just enjoy life. May you have a productive weekend, in whatever way you need it to be, and may you be rich in the gift of family and friends or peace and quiet if you need it. Many blessings and have a great Saturday everyone! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God, here on earth you are constantly trying to change us. At times we wish to flee into the wilderness to avoid you. But let us learn to love the lasting things of heaven rather than the dying things of earth. We must accept that time always brings change, and we pray that, by your grace, change within our souls will make us worthy of your heavenly kingdom. Amen (Prayer by Alcuin of York)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all. I hope your Friday is staring off well? As, I mentioned yesterday, we had our January taping session for The Sunday Mass yesterday and I thank you for all your prayers. It was a long day but a good one!
There is a light dusting of snow on the ground this morning and it seems to be still coming down. Hopefully, it will not amount to much as I have several things to accomplish today and I don’t really want to trudge through snow all day. Also, I am headed to Baltimore tomorrow for the day and I would like not to have to make the drive in snowy conditions but if I have to I will! May your Friday be a good one and I hope that you are not too busy today and if you are that things go smoothly for you so that your Friday will lead you into a relaxing weekend. May God bless all of us today with peace and a generous helping of God’s mercy and love throughout our journey through this day. May God bless us with safe travels, successful endeavors, grace filled encounters, joyful people and hope filled experiences. And may our day lead us into a restful evening and a peaceful night so that we can rise refreshed to live a new day tomorrow. Friday blessings to all. Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O God, grants us to the gift of being true friends in faith today and always. Helps us to bring to you, no matter what the obstacles, all in need so that they and we might encounter your mercy, healing, forgiveness and your loving presence. Bless us with a community of faith who will help your grace to remain alive in our hearts! Amen!
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday greetings and blessings to all. It is still dark out as I write this so I am not sure what the new day will bring. Around 6 am I will be heading out to our place in Jamaica, NY for our January Taping Day for the Sunday Mass. It is going to be a long day and I would ask that you keep us in your prayers today!
I hope your week is going well. I pray that you feel supported by God and have encountered the presence of God throughout your journey of life this week. As always, I pray for God’s blessings upon all of us today that whether busy or not, we may find the gift of God’s touch in our lives; the touch of healing if we need it, but most importantly the touch of joy, hope, mercy and love to carry us through the day. Have a great day everyone. Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, help us today so that we will not be people with hardened hearts but people with compassionate hearts. Help us to be people willing to reach out across the boundaries of life with mercy that all might have the opportunity to be part of your community of faith. Enliven us that we will always hear your word with an open mind and an open heart! Amen!
