Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to everyone! I hope you are continuing to navigate through these difficult times with a sense of hopefulness. here in New York beginning tomorrow we are not allowed to go to our workplace or any place except our own homes. Another adjustment in this unusual time, but I/We must remain hopeful and do what is best for the many not just ourselves.
Once again as we journey through this uncertain time, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) My prayer of blessing today is that God will bless us all in the most difficult of times with the hopefulness, the patience, the compassion and the love that will see us through to a better day and time for our world, our families and ourselves. May God’s bless us with his merciful and healing presence today and always and may we give God a little time this day. Blessings, peace and please know you are always in my prayers. Peace in Christ's Passion...Fr. Paul

Today’s Blessing Prayer: Happy Solemnity of St. Joseph and Thursday greetings to all. As I said that the beginning of my scripture reflection this morning, I know that most if not all of us cannot be out and about celebrating today but I hope we will all honor St. Joseph in our prayers today.
On a sad note today my childhood parish, St. Joseph’s in Port Vue, PA was to have a closing mass for the parish and the church. The parish has been a part of a combined parish with several other parishes in the area for many years now, but the physical building has remained open as a worship site. Well the worship site of St. Joseph has been closed. I was hoping to go to the closing mass today, but the bishop of Pittsburgh canceled all masses in the diocese so the closing mass at St. Joseph was canceled. I would have been a nice way to honor St. Joseph and the many years that the parish was a part of many people’s lives. I believe my own vocation was given life and nurtured for many years in that holy space. While the church was dedicated to St. Joseph the Worker there is still a flood on memories as I remember the parish and its people at mass this morning! Thanks to all the people who touched my life in that space and who looked upon and continue to look upon St. Joseph as a source of grace, life and inspiration! Once again as we journey through this uncertain time, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) My prayer of blessing today is that through the intercession of St. Joseph, all of us will remain focused on our faith, on our relationship with God, on all the journeys of life that God has invited us to enter into and all the healing God has provided. May we never give in to hopelessness and look elsewhere to a god the world creates. Many blessings to all today, safety in our living today, hope in the healing of our world and may we encounter the presence of God throughout the day! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving God, we honor your faithful servant, St. Joseph today. Help us with your grace to be your faith filled servants too. Enable us to be compassionate like Joseph to those around us. Give us the wisdom of Joseph so that we to will see your plan in every aspect of our lives. Gift us with a love like Joseph so that we to can make a difference with our lives. Touch us with the joy of Joseph so that we will always find the gift of God’s presence in everything we do. Good St. Joseph pray for us and watch over us. Help us to always find the value of family life no matter how difficult the world makes it. Amen!

Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday greetings and blessings to all and Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope this finds you well and that your Tuesday and your St. Patrick’s Day has gotten off to a good start. Yes, it is going to be an odd St. Patrick’s Day with no parades, or after parities but I am hoping we can still celebrate a little. Perhaps open a Guinness and just toast our Irish heritage. Whatever you chose to do, if you chose to do anything, blessings upon your St. Patrick’s Day!

(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) I was struck by one of the psalm prayers during morning prayer today and so I offer it to you… “Be gracious and bless us, Lord, let your face shed its light on us, that we can make you known with reverence and bring forth a harvest of justice.” (From the Prayer of Christians) My prayer of blessing today is that God will bless us all with the energy, the spirit and the enthusiasm to continue this journey of Lent and this journey of life in these most trying times. That God will bless us with a joy for life, for other people and for ourselves. And that whatever we do, wherever we go, whoever we meet will be touched by the joy and mercy of God that we bring! Have a blessed and healing Tuesday everyone and a Happy St. Patrick’s Day. I hope you will not be too stressed by these unusual times and that you will always trust and have faith in the mercy, healing and love of God. Peace in Christ’s Passion...Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: As I arise today, may the strength of God pilot me, the power of God uphold me, the wisdom of God guide me. May the eye of God look before me, the ear of God hear me, the word of God speak for me. May the hand of God protect me, the way of God lie before me, the shield of God defend me, the host of God save me. May Christ shield me today. Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit, Christ when I stand, Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me, Christ in every eye that sees me, Christ in every ear that hears me. Amen! (Adapted from a prayer by St. Patrick)
