Today’s Blessing Prayer: Saturday greetings and blessings to everyone! I hope your Saturday is starting off well? Yesterday was a busy day for me and today is also so I will make my blessing prayer a simple one today.
My prayer of blessing for all of you today is that God will bless all your endeavors, your encounters, your times of solitude, your moments of busyness and your times of rest today. May this day be what you need it to be. May it be a gift from God that enables you to find the present of God in your life, especially within yourself! Have a great Saturday and don’t forget to give a little time to God this weekend. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: Give us grace, loving God, to address you with all our hearts as well as our lips. You are present everywhere; from you no secrets can be hidden. Teach us to fix our thoughts on you, reverently and with love, so that our prayers are not in vain but are acceptable to you, now and always. Amen. (Adapted from a prayer by Jane Austen)

Loving God, We sometimes feel like we are crossing a barren desert but we know you will not let us die of thirst. We sometimes wander far in safety though often we do not know the way. We speak your words, O God, sometimes in foreign lands and we pray people will understand. We hope to see the face of God and live.So Lord, we will not be afraid because you always go before us, we will come and follow you because we know you will give us rest! Sometimes it feels as if we are passing through raging waters in life, that we are in the sea, but we trust you will not let us drown. We know that if we walk amidst the burning flames of life you will not let us be harmed. And if we stand before the power of hell and death is at our side we know that you are always with us through it all. So Lord, we will not be afraid because you always go before us, we will come and follow you because we know you will give us rest! Lord, blessed are the poor, for you told us the Kingdom will be theirs. Blessed are all of us who weep and mourn because one day we shall laugh. And if hurtful people insult and hate us because of you may we to be blessed. So, Lord, we will not be afraid because you always go before us, we will come and follow you because we know you will give us rest. Amen! (Adapted from the song “Be Not Afraid” by Bob Dufford, S.J.) Today’s Prayer: Almighty God, you inspired your servant Luke the Evangelist and Physician to set forth in the gospel the love and the healing power of your Son. In faithfully detailing the humanity of Jesus, he also showed the divinity of Jesus and his genuine compassion for all human beings.
May St. Luke intercede for us that we may deepen our understanding of the gospel and grow in compassion of Jesus. May his intercession enable us to follow your way and bring your healing and loving presents to all we meet this day and always. Amen. Today’s Blessing Prayer:

God of all blessings, source of all life, giver of all good gifts, we thank you for the gift of life - for the breath that sustains us, for the food that nurtures us and for the love of family and friends without which there would be no life. We thank you for the mystery of creation - for the beauty that the eye can see, for the joy that the ear may hear, for the unknown that we cannot behold because it fills the universe with wonder, for the expanse of space that draws us beyond the definitions of our selves. We thank you for setting us in communities - for families who nurture our becoming, for friends who love us by choice, for companions at work, who share our burdens and daily tasks, for strangers who welcome us into their midst, for people from other lands who call us to grow in understanding, for children who lighten our moments with delight, for the unborn, who offer us hope for the future. We thank you for this day - for life, for one more day to love, for the opportunity to work one more day for justice and peace, for neighbors, for one more person to love and by whom be loved, for your grace and one more experience of your presence, for your promise to be with us, to be our God, and to give salvation. For these, and all blessings, we give you thanks, loving God. Amen. (Adapted from Prayer of Thanksgiving on beliefnet.com) |
