Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday greetings and blessings to all. I hope you are continuing to navigate through these mid-December days with faith and hopefulness for the future.
Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) I pray for God’s blessing on all of us today. May God enliven our spirits and enable us to bring the Good News in word and deed wherever we go and to whomever we meet. May we travel safe, live this day in God presence and rest this night in God’s peace. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: O God, our Creator and Redeemer, mercifully hear our prayers that as we honor your servant, Saint Lucy, for the light of faith you bestowed upon her, you would increase and preserve this same light in us that we may be able to avoid evil, to do good, and to abhor nothing so much as the blindness and the darkness of evil and of sin. Amen (Adapted from a Prayer to St. Lucy)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday greetings and blessings to all. I hope today has gotten off to a good start for you.
We celebrate the feast today of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It remembers the appearance of Mary to Juan Diego, a poor Aztec Indian convert, as a beautiful young mestiza woman on Tepeyac Hill near Mexico City on December 9, 1531. It is a special day of celebration for all our sisters and brothers of Central, South America and here in North America too. I hope you are continuing to navigate through these mid December days with faith and a hopefulness for the future. Once again as we journey through this uncertain time, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) With this feast in mind I ask God’s blessings upon all of us today through the intersession of Mary. May God bless us all today with the wonderful grace of trust, faith and hope that was so present in the life of Mary. May this day be one in which we focus our life, strive to be the best we can, persevere through the struggles and challenges and always take a little time to connect with God through prayer. – Loving God bless us with the richness of your love wherever we go and through whomever we meet. And may we always say “yes” when you ask us to bring your presence to the world. We ask this blessing through your gift of Mary. Amen! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Come loving God, come – come and make your dwelling in our hearts. Come and be present to the struggling, difficult and challenging moments of our day. Come in your unexpected ways and fill us with a hope that will always help us to trust and have faith that you are always with us and you will never leave us to face the struggles and challenges of life alone. Come loving God, come and be with us today and like Mary may we always say “yes” - Amen!

(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) Today is the 54th Anniversary of the death of Thomas Merton (Fr. Louis). I am most grateful for the gift of his life in my own journey of faith. I am grateful for the time that I have spent with the Trappists at the Abbey of Gethsemane in Kentucky. May Thomas Merton continue to be a gift to me, to the Church and to all people! My blessing prayer this morning is – Loving God, through the gift of your presence during this new day in our lives help us as we walk amid passing things to always love the things of heaven and hold fast to what endures. Bless us all with your gift of hope that we may bring your presence to whomever we meet and to every place we go! Amen! Blessings to all today on whatever you are doing, if you are traveling travel safely and enjoy the gift of this day. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road though I may know nothing about it. Therefore, will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. (Prayer by Thomas Merton)

Paul Today’s Prayer: Loving Jesus, Savior of all life, come to us today and always. Helps us to welcome you in the peace of our night, in the silence of our days, in the beauty of creation, in the hours of great struggle within, in the challenges of living, in the anger and violence of our world, in the sadness and joy of life. Help us to always welcome you knowing that you will be with us in every situation, that you will be with us always. Amen.
