Today’s Blessing Prayer: Wednesday greetings and blessings to all. I hope and pray you are continuing to navigate through these last days before Christmas with faith and a hopefulness for the future.
Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) As for today’s blessing I once again call upon spirits Mary and Elizabeth to focus us and remind us throughout this day that God is always with us. Loving God bless us all this day with the echoes of Elizabeth’s words to Mary, “How does it happen that the mother of my Lord, should come to me?” Make these words our own today, O God, for by your blessing of creation we all carry around in us the gift of your presence. May the story of Mary and Elizabeth remind us of your presence in our lives and give us the strength to give your gift to everyone we encounter today and always. May God bless us all today. Have a blessed and holy Wednesday everyone! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul

Today’s Prayer: Loving God, like Elizabeth in today’s Gospel we pause in gratitude for the many visits that Mary has made to our lives. We give thanks for those visits as they were made present by our own mothers. With the gift of life, our mothers carried us in their wombs and gave us life. Like Mary and Elizabeth, they tenderly, patiently cared for us and taught us to walk and talk. They read to us and made us laugh. No one delighted in our successes more; no one could comfort us better in our failures. We are grateful as we remember the gift of Mary during our journey to Christmas, for how our mothers, nurtured us and mentored us, and even disciplined us.
In the spirit of Mary and Elizabeth, please bless our mothers and all mothers, Lord, whether they are living or deceased. Comfort them, help them to have loving hearts and to continue to love and give of themselves to others. Strengthen them when they are down and give them hope when they are discouraged. Most of all, God, during the seasons of Advent and Christmas, give all mothers the graces they most need and desire. We pray this, grateful for the gifts of Mary and Elizabeth and all mothers in the name of Jesus, our Savior. Amen! PS Loving God, just two more things, in the spirit of Mary and Elizabeth bless all expecting mothers and all women who want to conceive too! Today’s Blessing Prayer: Tuesday greetings and blessings to all. I hope and pray you continue to navigate through these last days before Christmas with faith and hopefulness for the future.

(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) Before I offer you today’s blessing, I just want to apologize for not posting the last three days. Over the weekend I traveled to St. Louis for the baptism of my newest grandniece, and I decided once I got there that I would unplug in order to just enjoy family time. So, in case you were wondering what happened to my reflections, prayers and blessings the last few days this is the reason. I traveled back home yesterday, so here I am back. I hope your fourth weekend of Advent went well and that you find yourself in the home stretch of Advent ready for the celebration of Christmas! I have to say I enjoyed my unplugged weekend, but it is nice to be back with you once again! In the spirit of Mary’s “yes” that is proclaimed in the Gospel today I offer my blessing prayer – Loving God, bless us this day with the confidence, the faith, the trust and the hope to always respond with a “yes” to your invitation to live life. Help us to be people of joy, of peace and of commitment. Grace us with the strength to move beyond negativity of this world and see the possible in the impossible. Protected us today, in our travels, our endeavors, in our busyness and gift us with many experiences of your love. Loving God bless us all this day and always. Amen. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O Key of David, O royal Power of Israel, come, and in the spirit of your handmaid, our mother Mary, we pray - Behold your servants, O God – May what you ask of us be lived out by us according to your word, your invitation, your will. Today God, we say “yes” to you! Amen. (Adapted from Mary’s Prayer to the angel Gabriel)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all from windy and rainy New York. I hope you are continuing to navigate through these December days with faith and hopefulness for the future.

(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) Around noon today I am hoping to head to the airport and broad a flight for St. Louis, where on Sunday I will baptize my newest grandniece Vivian! With the weather the wat it is this morning I have my fingers crossed and I am asking God in prayer to calm things down here in New York so that my plane can take off this afternoon. I journey through this morning in hopefulness! My prayer of blessing today is that God’s blessing will be upon all of us. O God of Mercy, as we continue our preparation to celebrate the birth of your Son, know that ultimately, we will find ourselves at Calvary and the cross, enliven us with courage and strength. Touch our hearts, minds, bodies and spirits with your grace, so to enable us to bring the Good News in word and deed wherever we go and to whomever we meet. O loving God bless us, so all our encounters this day are safe, and help us to live this day in your presence and rest this night in your peace. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Lord, grant that what we have suffered to achieve, we may share freely with others. Give us the noble gift of silent generosity. We trust that this silence will be rewarded by strength and peace like yours, Lord Jesus, born humbly at Bethlehem. Amen! (Adapted from a Prayer by Fr. Carroll Stuhlmueller, C.P.)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Thursday greetings and blessings to all from a snowy New York. I hope you are continuing to navigate through mid-December days with faith and a hopefulness for the future.

Bless us with your watchful care throughout this day so that wherever we go and whatever we do it will be for you. Bring us home safe to those we love that we might celebrate the gift of family, of friendship, of community, of your love so that our sleep will be restful, and we will be energized to welcome you once again tomorrow! Make us always ready to say, “Yes” when you call us into your service. Have a great day everyone and peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: Lord, enable us as this Advent comes to an end to continue to prepare for your coming by a deeper attitude of faith, so that we find you very near in each and every moment of our lives, very near in each and every person or event that crosses the path of our lives. Amen (Adapted from a prayer by Fr. Carroll Stuhlmueller, C.P.)
Today’s Blessing Prayer: Wednesday greetings and blessings to all. I hope you are continuing to navigate through these cold mid-December days with faith and hopefulness for the future.

(Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) Today is the feast of St. John of the Cross, a Carmelite priest and along with St. Teresa of Avila helped to reform the Carmelites and reform them into the Discalced Carmelites. He is a Doctor of the Church and a mystic. He pictured the spiritual life in his writings as the journey of the soul to divine union with God. We call upon his spirit to enliven our journey today. My prayer of blessing for all of us today is – Loving God, through the gift of your presence during this new day in our lives help us as we walk amid passing things to always love the things of heaven and hold fast to what endures. Bless us all with your gifts of mercy and hope that we may bring your presence to whomever we meet and to every place we go! Amen! Blessings to all today, travel safely and enjoy the gift of this day. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul Today’s Prayer: O Blessed Jesus, give us stillness of soul in You. Let Your mighty calmness reign in us. Rule us, O King of Gentleness, King of Peace. Amen (Adapted from a Prayer by St. John of the Cross)
