Today’s Blessing Prayer: Friday greetings and blessings to all from windy and rainy New York. I hope you are continuing to navigate through these December days with faith and hopefulness for the future.
Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) Around noon today I am hoping to head to the airport and broad a flight for St. Louis, where on Sunday I will baptize my newest grandniece Vivian! With the weather the wat it is this morning I have my fingers crossed and I am asking God in prayer to calm things down here in New York so that my plane can take off this afternoon. I journey through this morning in hopefulness! My prayer of blessing today is that God’s blessing will be upon all of us. O God of Mercy, as we continue our preparation to celebrate the birth of your Son, know that ultimately, we will find ourselves at Calvary and the cross, enliven us with courage and strength. Touch our hearts, minds, bodies and spirits with your grace, so to enable us to bring the Good News in word and deed wherever we go and to whomever we meet. O loving God bless us, so all our encounters this day are safe, and help us to live this day in your presence and rest this night in your peace. Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul
