Today’s Blessing Prayer: Monday greetings and blessings to all and happy Presidents Day! I hope and pray you are continuing to navigate through these late February days with faith and hopefulness for the future.
Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) I would ask you to keep in your prayers the repose of the soul of Bishop David O’Connell, the auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Los Angles, who was shot and killed Saturday afternoon in his home. Remember him, his family and friends who morn his loss greatly, the Archdiocese of Los Angles and its people and finally remember all the people he served and helped first as a priest and then as a bishop. He was known as a “peacemaker” and certainly was a bishop who followed the lead of Pope Francis. May he rest now in the peace of God’s Kingdom and may all who morn his passing be comforted! My prayer of blessing today is that our day will be filled with many positives and that the negatives will only be fleeting moments. I pray that God’s blessings will be upon all that we do, upon everyone we meet, everywhere we go and upon everyone we love! Peace in Christ’s Passion…Fr. Paul
