Today’s Blessing Prayer: Sunday greetings and blessings to all! I hope you are continuing to navigate through these Easter Season and May days with faith and a hopefulness for the future.
Once again, I offer you Pope Francis’ Prayer… O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope. We entrust ourselves to you, and the Health of the Sick. At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain, with steadfast faith. You, Salvation of All People, know what we need. We are certain that you will provide, so that, as you did at Cana of Galilee, joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial. Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the Father’s will and to do what Jesus tells us: He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen. We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin. (Prayer Composed by Pope Francis) I would ask your prayers this week for my Passionist Province that will enter into Chapter this afternoon. Chapter is a time of reflection, discussion, election and visioning that helps us plan for the future. The Chapter will last from this afternoon thru Thursday. I would just ask you to join me in prayer this week for all the Passionists gather at our newly renovated Retreat House in Jamaica, New York for our Chapter. I will not be joining them, but I have promised to pray for the process, and all gathered. I could use some help so if you have sometime to offer a simple prayer for the journey of Chapter that many Passionists will take this week. Thanks in advance for your help. As I pause in the midst of my Sunday morning, my prayer is fashioned from a little saying that I have always liked, “Prayer may not change things for you, but it for sure changes you for things.” So, my prayer of blessing today for all of us is to simply say a little prayer that we will be ready for all the things we will face today and that whatever we encounter will be a blessing from God that will enliven, energize and gift our day and our life! Let us remember to give God a little time today and if we find ourselves encountering struggles and difficulties that stress us beyond our limits may we remember that we are not alone God dwells within us! Peace in Christ’s Passion and Joy in the Risen Lord…Fr. Paul
